Ok so Cybertron con, a China transformers convention thats probably their equivalent of SDCC or Botcon, just outdid the former. At SDCC all HAsbro di was re-hash what they had showed at Botcon. At cybertron con they actually showed photos/slides of figures coming out in the generations/HFTD lines in the spring. Still no word on whien figures like Hailstorm and Highbrow. Though i think theyre due out laterr this year, like fall-ish. But anyway, to the spring's figures.
Jazz: Really like the look. Seems very g1 and very sleek. Seems to have a slight animated feel, at least from this crappy cell-phone shot. i dont see the flip out speakers, but i'm sure the photo is just mis-transformed as usual. really like the look fo this guy and we've needed a good modern reshash of g1 jazz, evn as awesome as animated jazz was. from as far out as the shot is, the head seems very g1 homage-y which is awesome and so generations.
Perceptor: i just got commemorative g1 perceptor in february, and this guy doesnt seem like he has a microscope mode full on, btut hats fine as it looks like he was influenced heavily by the animated perceptor toy deisgn of the figure and SUV/ science vehicle. well, at leats thats what he woulda been on earth. They said at botcon this toy drew heavily from animated, and that is far from a badd thing. I like how they retained the shoulder cannon and i've heard the chest flips down for a microscope stage, so maybe there is a microscope mode. we'll see. The head looks a bit small, but thats probably from how far out the shot was taken. I'm for sure intrigued to see more of this figure.
Scourge: Mis-transformed arms aside, i really like the look fo this guy. Seeing as i was never going to get Botcon 2009 Scourge or his sweeps (made from the cybertron Sideways mold), this guy is pretty much bought. again i would like a better shot of the head mold, but i'm taking what i can from these far away shots from this convention. I'm iffy on the feet and it looks like thre's no waist posabilty, which is fine. I like the alt mode a lot too, seems it homages the botcon figure and still refernces g1. just hope he's not a full on shellformer like the g1 figure is. WHo am i kidding, probably getting this figure.
Thuderwing: Looks awesome. Dont see the drone thing though. but yea. brilliant character from the comics from what i've heard, like another purely evil guy, like Straxxus (Darkmount). This guy is bought.
Turbo Tracks: Whats with the name? loss of copyright methinks. I've been wanting a new tracks toy since i saw reviews of the alternators version, which is on my wishlist even wiht this figure coming out. Both modes look spot on, and nice updates. Though the original came wiht a dual rocket launcher that clipped on to the back of the car, is that just the two separte launchers on either arm now? Wheres a photo of his flight mode? do like this alot though.
Legends Gold Bumblebee and g1-ish Megs: Gold Bumblebee or Goldbug is bought if i see him. the g1-ish Megs legend may be mistransformed, at leasti hope it is, the cannon side arm look wayy too low. still though, i might pass on him, unless i'm blown away.
Legends g1-ish Prime and Starscream: Dont look bad, need to see more to have full thoughts.
Power core Combiners Spring releases:
SteamHammer with Constructicons: will wait for a full on HQ photo, but first immpression is a good one. the drone limbs look more balanced than on the figures currently out. The legs look to be uniform length and i like the combined mode head.
Grimstone wiht Dinobots: I'm intrigued by a dinobot combiner, and this distant shot makes the figure look not half bad. though the head sculpt for combined mode looks a smidge phallic. I'm liking this idea so far and the drone Dinos seem like they hold the PowerCore ports well. But i want more photos.
Scout class Windcharger: if i seem him in the spring, he's as good as bought. like the look fo this guy a lot, even if i know nothing of the character.
Voyager Grapple: The inevitable universe 2.0 inferno repaint/retool. NEed a shot of the new head, but i like the look of this guy so far. As soon as his pre-order goes up, i'm gonna place one as this guy is based from one of the best molds in recent memory. very much looking forward to this figure.
HFTD Lugnut (movieverse lugnut): another TFA figure moves to the movieverse. This phot is a bit hard to see the details in. But that and the mistransformed/awkward arms aside this guy seems a bit lanky and has no mono-eye. Still though, there's something about the mold that grabs me and i dont know what. As of now, this is not an instant buy, btu that might change.

Prototype shots of MP Rodimus and update on a new 3-pack--my thoughts
Links: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/first-prototype-pictures-of-masterpiece-rodimus-170298/
http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/conventions-15/auto-assembly-announces-giveaway-of-challenge-at-cybertron-possible-target-exclusive-in-us-170303/ (takes you to an article about what the UL Transformers convention is doing wiht this 3-pack, i'll be commenting on the pack itself and the US release info).
First up, the prototype photos of Masterpiece rodimus. this figure is currently slated to come out sometime in 4th quarter this year and i'm really liking the resin prototype shots. I'm really diggins how the trialers looks seemless over the car. If theyre going wiht the Rodimus persona, i hope they do a face changing thing so we can do the Hot Rod to Rodimus growth thing. Although, its debated how much he grew. I'm intrigued to see if they do put this gimmick in. If they dont, i wont mind. it looks like the trailer will be a missile base thing, which i'm fine with. We only see a photo of a photo of the Robot Mode, and it looks sweet and sleek and i like it. I cant wait for the colorization and such. I'm just hoping he's not too expensive. Though he is due out sometime in the fourth quarter from Japan, so we'll see once we get more photos and such.
Secondly, the second link has aphot attached to it. Supposedly the schemes on the toys in this three pack (rodimus/hot rod, Galvatron and Cyclonus) are more accurate to the original cartoon. That being said, if this pack ends up being a target exclusive, i'm not gonna rush out and get it. Dont worry, i love the Hot Rod/Rodimus and Cyclonus molds, but no color scheme will save that deluxe Galvatron from being the king of crap it is. It shoulda been a voyager, i dont care how they make it, it should've been a voyager, regardless of Hasbro's scale issues.

TF3 new character reveal
link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/transformers-3-autobot-rollbar-revealed-170296/
Ok so apparently a red jeep has shown up on the Chicago set of TF3. The scenes theyre shooting there are supposed to be towards the end of the movie. Anyway, we see a red jeep in the photos at the above link and the car is apparently named Rollbar. Now, i'm a bit miffed its not a Green Jeep named Hound, but knowing hasbro, we'll get that repaint in the toyline for TF3.
Aside of that, i like the look fo the jeep mode alot seems he harks back to his g1 throttlebot namesake. Now i dont know much about the throttlebots, btu the above link gives a link with a brief bio, which makes me really like the character. I'm mildly excited for this new character overall. Lets wait and see what the robot mode and ssubsequent toy looks like.

a quickie
Hey guys, or any readers of this. Just wanted to sya that this is anohter slow point right now, not much in terms of commentary on news. and i would do another "extended Impressions" thing on ROTF Lockdown, but i dont feel compelled to do so. I like the figure alot, he's got some brilliant engineering, but i dont feel compelled to write a narrative on him.
ROTF Skystalker is due in next week probably so expect an "exteneded impressions" thing around August 6th

a look ahead to August on my youtube Channel
For anyone who follows this and my youtube channel (zizzlerizzle8707), this is pretty much a list of the reviews that are going to go up on my channel in the month of august, all 31 days of it. 5 reviews and at least 1 vlog in 31 days. talk about a marathon month, hmm thats a catchy subtitle. i may use that. Anyway, here's the itinerary.
ROTF Skystalker is due to me at some point in the first week of august (my last week of work). TFA Rodimus and generations red alert have been pre-ordered and will be at college waiting for me when i get back, around August 15th. Rodimus will be my 100th figure, and his review and that of Red alert will be up between the 19th and 24th. There's only a big gap there cause of traveling back out to school and doing stuff for that the week after work ends. ROTF Brawn is coming to me from a guy on the Moonbase 2 forums, so that should be in the week of the 23rd at the latest. Lastly, HFTD (hunt for the decepticons) sidearm sidewipe, who i pre-ordered from Kapow Toys in the UK should be to me that week as well. between him and BRawn, there is a chance that Marathon Month will bleed into september a bit, btu thats fine.
so yea. keep your eyes peeled to my channel.

First concrete glimpse of the heads for TF3 Soundwave and Shockwave
Ok so courtesy of tfw2005, we have full on close-up shots of the heads of TF3 Shockwave and Soundwave.
Link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/first-clear-look-at-transformers-3-shockwave-and-soundwave-170281/
Direct link to photo:http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/Soundwave-Shockwave-Heads_1280089839.jpg
Ok, so first Soundwave. He very much resembles his ROTF counterpart, yet the head is slightly different in that he has a mouth. This to mea shows he man have a sepearte robot mode head, instead of the head we saw him use in his satellite mode in ROTF. So it seems he has an Earth mode with an actual mouth whcih seems nice and evil. So maybe we'll get this change noticed in toy form. I hope we do, and think we will. Maybe just an earth robot mode to satellite/Jet. i mean how hard would it be to rework the head and some other molding from the ROTF figure?
Now for Shockwave, I'll be brief, I love this head sculpt. The one- eye is spot on and g 1 and has a great evil glow to it. The head has a nice swept forward yet somehow the eye is set back just the right amount. i really dig it.

SDCC 2010 Transformers update thoughts #3: More news on TF:Prime
Link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/san-diego-comic-con-33/round-up-of-info-and-images-from-sdcc-transformers-prime-panel-170265/
So we've got some absurdly awesome photos and a teaser trailer up of TF:Prime. I cannot wait for the premier. A nto though, if the photos dont load all the way, just click one by one and theyll come up in a new window/tab. but before the photos, the teasrer trailer.
Teaser Trailer: supposedly a wokrs in progress scene we see incredibly lush CGI and a highway bridge and two Decepticon Trooper drones walking under the bridge. Bumblebee, who's character model has really grown on me, leaps off, transformers and roundhouses one of the drones. I want figures from this show now. even if its just the main characters, I will by all the characters we've seen. The animation style for the CGI is amazing. I honestly have not been this blown away by TV CGI since Reboot and Beast wars in the 1990s. This neardly cause a fangasm, and its only a taser trailer.
one more thing before the photos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAi_MJay5Xw&feature=player_embedded That link right there takes you to a behind the scenes video of Frank Welker (finally reprisign Megatron) and Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) giving behind the scenes interviews about workign wiht each other again, and then we get a clip of script reading. ZOMG! Welker's new megatron class is toned down and is more calculating but is soo awesome. It the best since David Kaye's Megatron from the BEast Era for sure. and if that script reading is any indication, holy crap is this show gonna be well-written. When Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman dont have to deal with BAy, they can write a mean show.
Ok, now the photos from the top link. Of course, first up is Optimus Prime himself. As i said in an earlier post, i love the look of this model its a perfect synch between TFA and the movie wihtout being too movieish, the truck mode is beautiful and i love the head mold, though you cannot butcher a prime head.
Next is Megatron. Not sure about the jet mode, but the robto mode looks chunky, menacing and i love the "buckethead". The fusion cannon has pure ownage on it and dthe whol look is just really nice, even is the predominant color is grey.
Decepticon troopers: Based Megatron's Lackeys which means he has an established power base and alot of grunts/ cannon fodder. I like this and especially how it contrasts from how hw was in Animated. That being said though, i'm mildly excited about the design of these grunts. the alt mode really reminds me of lockdown. and i can totally see these guys been great for troop building.
The Humans: Raf Esquivel, Miko Tezuka and Jack Darby. Raf and Miko look very cool, very well drawn. i just hope theyre not annoying. photos at above link at the top.
Autobot time!
Ratchet: No alt mode surprisingly, but the robot mode looks amazing. Looks like a seasoned war veteran medic yet in a new body and looks like he could become and awesomt SUV type vehicle. I'm just really liking this and its hard to say exactly why.
Cliffjumper: to be a 60's or 70s red muscle car wiht bull horns on both modes. I love the look so much and i'm so happy CJ is getting Prime characterization (pun intended). Probably my favorite design in the bunch.
Arcee: she looks really nice and sleek. very ninja like, and the head sculpt reminds one of those creepy mahcines that simply turns is head wiht a blank look and smile crepily slowly. I really like it though. SHe's blue cause they didnt wanna go pink and too girly. whatever. 2 favorite overall wiht Optimus and Bumblebee.
Bumblebee: The robot mode has really grown on me. something about the car mode just gras me. maybe its just the sticking out engine and the non straight across the car mold black stripes. He just looks nice. Though, i wonder if he speaks or is mroe a quiet assassin.
Good news. cant wait for the show premiere.

SDCC transformers update #2: TF:Prime (TFP) Optimus revealed
Hey all so earlier today we got our first look at what Optimus from Transformers Prime (TFP from here on out) looks like. He looks exactly like what everyone was saying, like a smoothed out more TFA style of the movie-verse Prime. I'm really diggnign the big head crsst and the heald mold as well as the overall look.

But then again, it is hard to butcher Optimus prime, Even transformers Energon Prime isnt bad. With TFP prime, i'm intrigued to see if there any more to come on his design and if this is just a base model.

SDCC transformers update #1a
TFW2005 has added a few mor photos from the hasbro display case. link from update #1 hold true, juts refresh.
two things i want to touch on. Hunt for the Decepticons Hailstorm is allegedly out or will be out this month. Interesting. Same with Sidearm Sideswipe who i have pre-ordered through kapow toys, who told me to expect a late august release. interesting....
In addition, HFTD Voyager Highbrow, who i'm really looking forward to is due out in september, which is a few months earlier than i expected. totally getting him in November or early december though.
I'm intirgued to see reviews of the latter as hasbro seems to be getting super interesting wiht their engineering, case in point Hailstorm (accordign to Peaugh's review).
see you next post.

SDCC transformers update #1
Ok so i'm gonna do as many SDCC Trasnforemrs updates as i can. Work may hamper the frequency of the posts until fruday afternoon. anyway, here goes the commentary.
Linkage: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/san-diego-comic-con-33/sdcc-2010-transformers-hasbro-booth-images-170250/
Oh look a bunch of images we;ve already seen! I think SDCC gpt jipped this year by being so close to botcon. Seriously, if this is all theyre revealing in the display case, i'm kinda let down by the product unveileing for the aforementioned reason. Maybe HAsbro's putting all their eggs in the TF:PRime reveal. We'll see.
So in the first row, we have yet another bumblebee figrue ina two pack with a legends class Grindor. I dont know what the point of this pack is, but i am passing hardcore on it. Next we see another 2007 LAM Brawl repaint under the "desert ruins" moniker. The mold isnt bad, its actually one i kind of want, its just the yellow-green that seems almost fluorescent thats turning me off here. The other legedns we see are craptastic.
Of course we see the shot fo the SDCC exclusive mighty muggs prowl and commemorative blaster figures, both of which i want and am sooooo jealous of people who are getting them now. Then we get a shot of the aniated Ironhide and Rodimus. Rodimus is sheer win and i already have him pre-ordered. Ironhide will be ordered in September or thereabouts. We then see another glimpse of the commemorative Seacons reissue which is on my xmas list. Past another shot of the bumblebee figure no one will get, we have an awesome panarama shot of Generations thrust, dirge, red alert, blurr, Drakmount and Drift. Drift i alreayd have and i love bothe modes and the mold. Blurr and Dirge have been pre-ordered, as has red alert. I really like Thrust and need to get him.
next, we get a crap ton of PCC figure photos and i'll be honest the only ones that remotely grab me are the Destrons 5 pack wiht the black huffer, leadfoot wiht pinpointer and Icepick with Chainclaw. Even with that said though, nothign is reaching out and refusing to let go of me with regard to these guys or this line. Guess thats one way i can save the $ i need to. Nothigns grabbing about the wave 3 2 packs for the PCC line either.
I'm done wiht this post.

Hong Kong convention exclusive 3pack from univers/classics 2010 and preliminary TF3 toyline thoughts
Linkage: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/new-images-of-classicsuniverse-2010-3-pack--rodimus-cyclonus-and-galvatron-170239/
Commentary:
I'm kinda bummed this 3pack is a hong kong market exclusive. I'd buy it in a hearbeat, which would hurt my finances massively. While universe 2,0 galvatron is known to be a craptastic toy, the g1-ish look to him, plus the g1'd cyclonus and new version of Classics hot rod, negates Galvatron's inclusion and crap level for me. I really am in love with the Cyclonus redeco, its a shame the 3 pack may nto make it over here w/o absurd pricing and shipping
Secondly, we have:
Up to date price-points for TFs with charcaters we know as of 7/20/10 for tf3 placed in (courtesy of the TFW2005 boards).
Decepticons in TF3:
Shockwave: at least a voyager if not leader class
Megatron: knowing hasbro, will be both leader and voyager
Starscream: will pass until i see how it compares to the ROTF/HFTD leader class, which i kind of like.
Soundwave: will probably pass unless im blown away by a revamp. cant see a voyager version
"Robot assasin 1": intrigued. i'll wait for the name and such
"Robot assasin 2": see above
"Black Dodge Charger SRT-8": see above
Autobots:
Optimus Prime (L,V) will probably pass unless im blown away and the leader class comes wiht the trailer we've seen.
Silverbolt: Intirgued. but need photos and such
Ratchet: hardcore pass
Ironhide: potential pass, we'll see
Sideswipe: Sidearm sideswipe does it for me for movieverse sideswipe. so we'll see what they do wiht tf3 sideswipe, but dont count on my buying this.
Bumblebee: pass. I have not been tempted by any movieverse BB, especially casue they have milked the charcater to death.
"Chevrolet Spark 1" Mudflap?
"Chevrolet Spark 2" Skids?: For both this one and the one above, i'm intirgued but need confirmed characters and such.
Nascar 1
Nascar 2
Nascar 3 : again i need names and such. is this Smokescreen and some buddies or what?
"Ferrari 458 Italia": is this hot rod? i'd lov
e a movieverse hot rod/ rodimus, but i need a confirmed name and robot mode pictures.
"Old robot" (D)
"Purple Mercedes E550": again. need names and such.
So we'll se how many figures from this line i get

"Extended impressions" text revie #02: Generations Drift and Hunt for Decepticons Seaspray
So changed the name of this series cause its not really a first impression if i;ve had the figure(s) for a few days at least.
the figures: Generatiosn drift and Hunt for the Decepticons Seaspray.
To the uninitiated, Hunt for the decepticons (HFTD from now on) is essentially a extension of the movie-line aesthetic but wiht more a more classics feel, if that makes any sense. generations is then just the reprisal of the universe/classics lines which take classics characters and update them, or such things.
So first up, we'll go with Drift.
Bio:
His bio essentially is that he used to be a decepticon warrior named Deadlock who was insanely ruthless and cold hearted, but then had his eyes opened to the horrors of the Decpeticons when orderede to wipe out a neutral transformer colony by MEgatron. With this change of heart, he changed his form, and was given a second chance by Kup. Deadlock traded in for swords and became Drift. Drift is an IDW comicverse only charcater finally getting his due, or so comic readers say. His bio makes him sound a lot like Cyrus (do i ahve that name right?) from FFIV. anyway, Drift's packagign is stnadar, with only 1 cardboard twist tie around the main body of the car.
Alt Mode:
Drift comes packaged in alt mode, and it is a very sleep one at that. While there is nto muhc sculpted detail in this car mode outside of the rear lights, spoiler, twin rear exhausts, front headlughts and grill, this alt mode, a japanese drift car (get it?), isa thing of sheer beauty. His color scheme is pretty simple and pleasing with blue plastic windows and windeshield and painted blue rear windows. He has red patterning down the front leading to the headlights and both doors feature elegant and flowy red wavy patterning. on top of this door patterning on either door is a type of japanese writing known as Kanji. the writing on either door translates approximately to "samurai". This reference is made clear when you see the longsword that clips under the car. Made of soft, rubbery,, dark grey plastic, this sword has Kanji down the blade that Transltates roughly to " Peerless under heaven" whichc essentially means, he is unmatched. His skills as a decepticon transferred right into his sword mastery as an autobot The sword is marked with a slightly elongated handle and gold detailing at the hilt, with a circle in the middle.
Robot Mode:
The transformation to Robot mode is involved and fun. Drift is adeqautely propportioned for a deluxe in this mode. His sword clips into the same clips on his back, and the top one can even extend out. His headsculpt features some wicked blueish-white light piping and scream Tigatron. The balck made prevalent from his chest and shoulder joints as well as his feet, nicely offsets the white and read. The arm transformation is fluid and genius and because of the poability in his arms, Drift can be posed reaching up for his long swrod, or reachign to pull out his short swords a.k.a buthcer knives from the insides of his door. the handles on these swords flip otu and these feel soft, but also a bti more sturdy that the longsword. The blades are straight silver. As for detailign in robot mofe, the arms have nice slupted detial, btu the bulk resides in the legs, which are former by the back half of the car. Some of the detial in the legs is missed but the predominatn white color on the legs, but it can be piked up with a gundam marker, or paint. The elgs are intriguingly engineered, and the feet actially rotate up to the thighs to form Gundam esque Legs, or so i've heard.
Overall:
This well propoertioned deluxe shines in btoh modes and in play value wiht his 3 swords. His mian downfal, albeit minor is the last of waist movement and the leg transformation from back of the car. the toy was designed wihtout ankle posability, which you can give, but it breakes up the sculpt. This is the premiere mold of the Generations line for me so far.
Very reccomended
Toy: HFTD Seaspray
Alt mode: A massively upgraded hovercraft from his g1 self, Seaspray sport two harpoon mssile launchers, two rotating hovercraft fans (they rotate 36o degrees) and some phenomenal detialing on the lower half of the alt mode, where the inner-ubing would be on the real world counter part. He features a loading bay for most scot class figures. The mian dectrator from this mode is the "SEa S.P.Ray" detialing painted on the top and on either side in sliver. The amount fo detailing on the figure itslef is very nice.
Robot Mode: The transformation is intuitve and fun, once thigns get untabbed initally. The Legs have the typical "Chicken walker" aesthetic, but somehow that works for this figure. the white and blue color scheme prevails througbout and the hands are a bit plain. The head resembels a scuba maks, and could've benefitted from a ball jointa and more clearance behind it. He can undersling ithe guns or tab them into his heands. The only gripe i have eith the robto mode is that the way the arms were designed, the arms have to either be straight up or out at an unnatural straight-from-the-chest angle. This s=figure would be much better with better designs on the elbow engineering.
OVerall: However, eve with the flaws, i still reccommend this guy.
Have a good one guys!

TFCon exclusive nightbird thoughts, Device label Blaster thoughts and Reissue Piranhacon Thoughts
Hey all, time for another editorial.
links:
(Nightbird figure TFcon exclusive): http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/conventions-15/tfcon-2010-night-bird-first-images-revealed-170195/
(in hand look at devie label blaster): http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/other-news-20/in-hand-look-at-device-label-blaster-170197/
(Piranhacon): http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/more-images-of-generation-1-seacons--piranacon-reissue-170196/
Before we get to the linked stories, i just want to mention that TFW2005 piosted news th other day that there's gonna be a g1 Predaking reissue. This i really like the sound of, but the parts that were gold stickers on the original and the prior re-issue are now going to be painted gold plastic. This drives the price up noticeably on a reissue thats already fairly expensive as it is. So we'll see. i do want a complete g1 combiner at somepoint.
Onto the links. LEts start wiht the most underwhleming first. The Nightbird photos, of the TFcon figure leave me underhelmed. i was originally thinking about oredering this figure from TFcon or bigbadtoystore.com, but i'm very underwhelmed by these photos. She's a convention exlcusive repaint of ImpossibleToys.com's version of G1 Arcee. I just saw a review on the oringial figure and the mold seems to be plagued by thin plastic guns molded into her hands. nightbird, which features a new headsculpt and and doubled pricepoint is seeming no worth it unless TFcon's higher-ups have fixed dthe plastic issues. that and the Grey plastic seems very dull.
2nd up: Device label Blaster. I liek the look fo this guy alot. its especially interesting that he's a mini-laptop (a.k.a netbook) and it seems llke theres little kibble on the back. I like the autobot logo on the "screen" in alt. mode. however, the fact that g1 Blaster is being re-issued as an SDCC exclusive this summer, kind of negates my interest in the device label counterpart. here's hoping i can get the SDCC exclusive version, after it all, it comes wiht 3 cassette bots.
last up. more Seacons and Piranhacon photos: I want this set soo much, but i'm willing to hold myself back until maybe the holidays. This is a great combiner, and dthe best example of a beast robots combiner. Better than Magnaboss by leaps and bounds in my opinion, but not as awesome as Magmatron from BWII.
That is all. A succint editorial. i need to change the blog name.

TFW2004 brings us some awesome new for tf3
Link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/optimus-primes-trailer-confirmed-for-transformers-3-and-a-chicago-filming-footage-170163/
Hello all. I'm back with some awesome aweseom news to comment on as far as Transformers go. this is mews on the third movie. So at the link above we have a vido (probably on an iphone 3G or 3gS as its nto as HD as the IPhone4 is) posted of part of the tf3 shoot in Chicago. ow the video is allright. and we get a glimspe of a blue-ish purple car. This has potential to be shockwave, who has been hinted as the third villain for the franchise. If it is and they go wiht the whole plot of somehow he makes his way into the Autobot Ranks and and then at some point reveals his true identity as a deceticon, that could make for an interesting plot if its written well. Maybe, if the blue-purple car is shockwave, he infiltrated the Autobots and NEST to get more information on Megatron (whom he could assume is dead. Just speculation, nothign is confirmed on the car at all.
Speaking of mysterious cars, we also have shots of a red Ferrari. now with this car, people are suggesting in the thread on TFW2005 tht it could be sunstreaker. i hope not. sure they made sideswipe silver in the movieverse, btu sunstreaker should nto be red, ever. Looking at the car, i get more of either a Hot Rod/Rodimus or Swerve feel. or maybe its a new incarnation of a little known character. who knows.
Also, the photos show optimus prime wiht a trailer. this makes me very very happy as his trailer is iconic, but he is never shown with it. looking ahead to this movie i ahd not planned to get an optimus prime figure from the line. The one for Revenge of the Fallen, is always going to be the best version of a modern movie-verse optimus prime for me. all the enigneering in both modes and with regard to the transformation to me clearly shows the pinnacle of what habro can do. Plus i dont thing the figure will change much from that movie to TF3. Though, if the toy comes with the trailer, i may have to consider getting it. I've longed for an optimus prime wiht a trailer as a mainline release since i've been colelcting.
Then, there was a few other photos that showed armed to the teeth rally cars painte din nascar style. people thought smokscreen initially, based on his altenrators toyline depiction, but there were three of them on the shoot location in chicago. people are saying all the guns are potential add-ons that flip out for an attack mode on the toy. there's speculation the car is Lockdown in a mjor role, or Axor. 1) who is Axor? 2) why have lockdown as a villain if shockwave is there as the alleged main villain? 3) why was there a third car? There's also speculation that these are cars souped up by a human fed up with the autobots being on earth and that this stuff being filmed happens early in the movie. I can see that and there was a plot poitn mentioned months agao that they were filming a scene of people protesting the autobots bringing their war to Earth. Its an interesting connection sure, and pretty plausible, but i hope its not a throw away part of the movie. However, the speculation that i'm going along wiht, at least for now, is that since there was 2 or 3 of the cars on the shoot they could potentially be the stunticons, as in everyone but motomaster, who made up Menosaur in g1. but here's the thing. we saw a Motormaster from btocon, but thta appears to be a fan custon. So if these three guys are three of the four limb pieces for Menosaur why are they all mostly the same car, why are they not their iconic colorings and where is Motormaster? Is he just off doing something else while this chase goes on?
This has been a rambling editorial. Comment down below wiht yoru thoughts on these photos.

TFW 2005 brings us news on TF:prime and a new convention
Links: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/transformers-prime-exclusive-footage-and-character-reveal-at-san-diego-comic-con-2010-170150/
http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/conventions-15/gregg-berger-announced-as-guest-at-slag-a-con-2010-170151/ and www.slagacon.com
so two quick posts from tfw2005 to talk about here. First up, the SDCC 2010 news. TFW posted earlier that the exlcusives for SDCC 2010are Mighty Muggs prowl and Speacial Edition/commemorative (a.k.a "we made soundwave a SDCC exclusive last year, so why nto make his rival the same") Autobot blaster. this is a re-issue of the g1 toy wiht some changes i'm sure and three of his cassetticons. I want Blaster so bad. Anywya, today, it was announced tat there's gonna be major character and exclusive footage from TF:Prime shown at SDCC later this month. I'm so looking forward to the footage. i give it maybe a week before it leaks. if its not legit posted to begin with.
secondly, a new Transfromers convention has surfaced, and has its first guest, Gregg Berger, voice fo g1 grimlock. The convention is named Slag-a-con and will happen on Saturday, October 9th in Chesterfield, Indiana. I'm very intrigued by Slag-a-con because of Gregg Berger and that the convention is in INdiana. Chesterfield is only about an hour away from my college, but there's two snafus: 1) finances with collecting and botcon 2) the day its on, october 9th, is the weekend before an ideal weekend for me, and i dont know if that weekend works wiht my academic courseload to travel 2 hours to get a figure or 2 and some signatures.
So i like the concept, but i dont think it works, plus i think itd be a bit nervewracking showing up to convention in a town i dont know where i dont know a soul. granted that's kind of what botcon 2011 will be like, but i know the LA slightly more than middle indiana. That, and school takes priority over a convienent convention, as does btocon finances.

so two quick posts from tfw2005 to talk about here.

Youtube Partnership questions/musing
It's doing what the title says.
Hey all, I'm considering looking into youtube partnership in the fall. Looking at my videos list and there views, i ahve three videos with over 1000 views and several more wiht over 300. I have no idea if this enough, hence the questions below i would like you guys's opinion on.
I'd mainly be Applying for partnership to get rid of the 11-minute time limit non-partners have on youtube.
So here's my questions:
1) if you're a partner, what are some of the other perks?
2) were you ever rejected for partnership?
3) do you have to have, for example, around 10 videos that are aroudn 1000 views total, or do you have to constantly get views in the tri[ple digits?
4) If i want to make partner, i'd have to re-do a helluva lto fo reviews, basucally all of mine from about February 2010 onwards, as one of the stipulations is you have permission to make money off of the music you use. Now the Money thing i coudl care less about, but I really dont want to be using Andy Arlocon's band's music to generate revenue, as something seems very "Wrong" or not fair to me about that. This si more of a comment, so i guess respond.
5) Is partnership acceptance dependant on number of subcribers?
So comment below or respond to the note (which this is mirrored from) on facebook about this. THanks guys.

ok so commenting on the photos goign down the displayed photos:
Barricade: Scout type. playing as him in the first mission of the 'con campaign. good stuff in both modes. I like his shockblast power thing when you hit his secondary power function button.
Brawl: soldier type. looks awesome, has been the mian guy i'm playing alongside other than megatron. Alt mode rocks, its nice to see a glimpse of the alt mode thats not only lit in game
Breakdown: not sure of his in game type btu both modes look awesome. cant wait to play as him.
Dead End: again both modes look awesome, and i want a toy of this guy. only gripe is the robot mode head looks a bti cartoony
Megatron: like in the in game model but i dont like the look of the toy and the voice is not growing on me in game.
Onslaught: looks like a brute. digging both modes and the color scheme. wnat toy
skywarp and thundercracker: the ineveitable starscream repaints. look nice. soldier types i think. If thhey make a starscrem toy for the game, look for them to make these guys, if they do, look for me to get thundercracker
Slipstream: I'm intrigued. i like.
Soundwave: Like a lot. cant wait to get the toy.
Starscream: looks like more of a brute soldier, not sure on the high boots aesthetic on the legs, but like the modes overall. if there's a toy: i may get it
Decepticon drone: interesting thats its a triple changer, i see some botcon troopbuilding wiht this mold.
bumblebee: have ethe toy, love it. love the character and voice from what ive sene of the gameplay
Jazz: this guy should be made available in the campaign as DLC. or made into a toy, awesome in both modes. though we are getting a Generations deluxe jazz with heavy g1 influence/
Jetfire: really like. want toy
Optimus prime: liek the art and the toy. nto sure how i feel about how the gun and plug into the side of the arm
Ratchet: toy. want . now. love the look. want him and subsequent IRonhide repaint/remold
Scattorshot: digging eveyrthing about the robot mode and the tank features of the alt. mode and the giant "move outta the way" cannon.
Sideswipe: iffy slightly on the robot mode head and the broadness of the robot mode upper body, specifically the shoulders. but i do like both modes and i want a toy.
SIlverbolt: love both modes and the swept back wings off the back in robot mode. Toy?
Warpath: want a deluxe version of this guy ASAP. love both modes
Zeta Prime: interesting
Air Raid: nice that he gets major charcaterization after typically only being a superion limb wiht minor characterization in the cartoon continutiy. love the lines on this guy. so dynamic. toy. want.
Arcee: i really like both modes.
autobot drone: could be BRawn or sandstorm. either way, i'd like a toy
Shockwave: Dude! he's a jet type thing! I want!!!!!
Editorial done. I'm Zack. hope you enjoyed.

"First impression" Text-Review #01: Generations/War for cybertron Deluxe Optimus Prime and Bumblebee
Hey all. If you're reading this in the USA, then happy 4th of july. anyway, its been a slow news day for the past few days at least in terms of stuff i want to comment on from TFW2005, so i figured i'd take a stab at doing a brief text review.
Now, unlike most text reviews, this was slated to be a "first impression" type of deal; in that i would give my intial thoughts on each new figure i got. i may not do this with every purchase, btu we'll see.
Anyway, so last night i got home from vacation from vacation and found a box from Amazon.com. I openend it and found War For Cybertron/Generations "Cybertronian" Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in there. Both figures are initially packaged in robot mode and Prime seems mistransformed minorly. His Wheels where splayed out to the side in robot mode, as opposed to behind his back, whihc is much more aesthetically pleasing. This was likley done to save on plastic shelling. Additionally, Prime's feet were slid forward, negating any chance he had of standing outside the shell. From reviews, i remembere his feet slide back on a hinged ball joint type deal. i hinged them back and he stood fairly well. I was initally going to leave him and Bumblebee in robot mode and then fool around wiht them today, the 4th. but after a fit of boredom hti me, i spent a decent amount of time transforming each to thier alternate modes.
Bumblebee has weapons storage on the underside of the "trunk" section of his Cybertronian car mode. My biggest down point on thie figure is that he gets aburdly panel-ly going into alt mode. tabbign the arms and front wheels in seems to be fine, but its a matter of when you bring the legs up and tab them into the underside of the arms. This wouldnt be too bad, but it get very tight when you have to port a tab on the underside of the robot mode foot to a hole that appear when the car roof and back part are straightened out. This connection is very tight and can cause a few parts to come untabbed once its done. you then have to fenagle with those until the figure looks somewhat all tabbed together. on the top of mine, i still cant get two of panels to tab together, btu its fine. The alt mode is wonderfully sleek and oddly rsembels an avocado in its shape. the translucent balck windows are really nice and the red highlights on them and on the rims are really nice as well. there's some nice molded in detailing and the yellow coloration is pretty uniform throughout. Definitly a worthy replacement for Animated bumblebee ( who i did llike) in my main display at school.
Optimus has slightly less of a fiddly transformation, but it took me a good while to figure out that his arms rotate up so the face straight back with the autobot insignia'd panels facing in. he then bends at the elbow and friction rests into the side of the wheel well on either side of the alt mode. The legs are probably about the easiest part to transfomr, once you figure out the unigure rotations his alt mode hood assembly and Waist joint do to orchestrate the transformation. Really the only gre, and its minor, i have wiht the alt mode is that when the aforementioned hood part lowers down and clips in, it makes the front window s bit hard to see, especially since thier grayness can get lost in the redness of the front and the gray of the bumper and tiny grill. while it is a cybertronian mode, i would've preferred a little bit of blue accenting on the windows in a manner that worked (in other words in a manner i dont think i can do).
In sum, these two figures are wellcome additions to my collection and and very well engineered pieces of plastic crack, especially for deluxes. given the mild compelxity of their transformations, i cant reccomend them for most child collectors. However, these toys are btoh really nice, fun to fiddle with and are a nice intoruction into the Generations toyline.
For the official reviews of the figures, check out my youtube page: zizzlerizzle8707 the reviews will both be up by this comign sunday, the 11th of July.

Another new Masterpiece figure from Takara-Tomy? MP Rodimus confirmed hours ago.
hey all, more mssterpiece toyline news. but first, here's some linkage to the rather shortish artile i'm commenting on:
http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/takaratomy-masterpiece-rodimus-confirmed-170106/
So earlier today, i wrote that it looked like the next Masterpiece figure we're getting is a re-deco of ROTF Leader Starscream. Check out that piece for my thoughts on the released info.
However, for thos of you who are ordering the MP04S, a.k.a Sleep Mode MP Optimus Prime a.k.a Takara making a BS toy and unnecessary repaint based of a iconic yet niche seen from the 1986 movie, you'll notice, and this is accordingFW2005 at the above link, that the next full-on masterpiece figure will be Rodimus. *insert fanboy squee here*
Ok, now that i'm done squeeing-i'll get to serious business. I'm very excited for this figure, even though we dont even have test shots/ resin shots yet. But Takara has yet to botch a Masterpiece line figure, so i'm nto too worried. All we know is that he is coming down the pipe from Takara. If they're smart, they'll push the ROTF Starscrem re-deco out for this holiday season, and then release MP Rodimus (who i believ is either MP05 or MP09 going by their numbering system [i'm not sure if they counted the MP Starscrem repaints as numbered MP figures]) sometime next year, preferably right before the movie Aesthetic kicks in again with TF3 so Botcon 2011 goers will have a highly sought after figure to grab. Alternatively, they could take their time and release MP Rodimus for holiday season 2011, which seems slightly more likely. All we can do is wait and see as all we know from the above link is that He's coming down the pipeline at some point soon.
Hope you guys enjoyed this Editorial, and on the heels of this news, i take back any anti-Takara-Tomy slander/bias from my last post.

Next Masterpiece figure is alternate version of ROTF Leader Starscream
I'm gonna open this Editorial wiht the link to the sotry i'm commenting on:
http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/takara-tomy-announces-their-next-masterpiece---movie-starscream-170100/
So, now that you probably have the link open, Whats up everyone? another post, probaby gonna be another quick hit. so lets get to it
according to the link above, the next figure in the mastepiece line from Japanese transformers company Takara Tomy is going to be a variant of LEader starscream from Revenge of the fallen. Now, dont get me wrong, i like the look of the US release alot, but i've never felt compelled to get any version of the Movieverse Starscream. This upcomgin release from Takara-Tomy isnt going to change that at all. The company is essentially taking the US release of LEader class Starscream and removing the Cybertronian Tattoo Decals that are on the figure, makign it rather plain looking (pun intended).
Now, there's a couple thigns that btoher me wiht this, the fanbase has been clamoring for a new Matserpiece figure on the heel of Masterpiece Grimlock's US release this fall and his Japan release late last year. This is to be expected, and most fans wanted a character like say Rodimus/Hot Rod or Ultra Magnus to get the Masterpiece treatment. Personally i'd love either of those or a MP (from here on out i'ming this abbreviation for masterpiece) Perceptor, Ironhide (which would spawn the inevitable Ratchet repaint/remold release), Wheeljack, Blurr or Springer. Starscream has been done in his classics/ g1 stylings as MP figure before and has been repainted at least twice now, so why do another release of him, albeit from a different aesthetic? Sure Screamer is an iconic character, but by milking him to death in the masterpiece like you're giving countless other character (like the above) neglect they dont deserve.
the other thing that bothers me is thta i fail to see the point in this release, just like how i feel about the MP "Sleep-Mode" Optimus Prime/Convoy release. Takara's taking a figure that is just hitting US retail and painting over/ removing the cyberglyph tattoos. And that's all thats theyre doing to him! Sure, they may add some diecast here and there on the figure, but still. It's as if Hasbro has infected a Eastern Market company with the move-aethetic when prior to this, that company (Takara, in case you cant follow my logic) was well-regarded for giving us figures that very more of the classic, mass-appeal aesthetic (Humanoid Robots that turn into normal vehicles).
I want to put a discalimer here that this is simply my opinion and I in no way mean to offend any readers or any higher-ups at Hasbro or Takara-Tomy.
Call the disclaimer covering my tracks, but i wanna play it safe.
