another DOTM toy leak

Well hey there readers. Merry Chirstmas eve/ Chirstmas/ Holiday season to you all. hope its an awesome one. Spend time with your family!

anyway, quick post on another DOTM toy leak. this time is Ironhide, and this doens tlook like the rumored Leader class toy, but rather a proper delxue of a short voyager. You knwo everyon highly touts the HFTS ironhide, but its kinda shit.

here's the DOTM ironhide: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/new-images-of-dark-of-the-moon-ironhide/20475/

now, as i said he looks either like a deluxe or small voyager to me. Now, ignoring that he's horrible mistransformed, i'm diggn that hasbro listende and actually gave him painted pupils. To me thats been a big bugaboo wiht the LAM ironhide toys; that they all have dead eye.

So i like this so far, but i need to see more, preferably properly transformed photos.

What say you? sound off below?

prelim DOTM toy thoughts & a spoilerific quickie

ok, so to continue my flurry of posts, we have confirmation on who that tanker truck we've seen from shots of TF3: DOTM is, yet we still have not seen info on who the red ferrari is (Personally, i'm thinking Hot Rod(even though they can work in the whole Prime dying thing again, cause they already did that in ROTF, plus it would be a gaping continuity hole if prime did die and haded the matrix over to Hot Rod). Anyway, before i get to the spolier, i wanna give my quick thoughts on the movie lines toys.

as far as that goes, here's the toys that i know i'm going to get. I know i'm gonna try and limit myself with this toyline, so while people are racing to get the new stuff at retail, i'll get what i want and then focuse on flushing out the other toylines in my collection. I'll probably end up eating those words, but here's what i'm knowing i'm gonna get abotu 5 months before the official release of the toys.

Megatron (voyager version)
Optimus (only if he comes with the trailer, if not, i'm gonna pass)
that red Ferrari 'former
Sideswipe
the huge fire-truck we saw on set (which could be inferno, or someone else)
The toy of whoever the bot we saw in the ship was.
Shockwave

So yea. and you may be wondering why i know i'm getting TF3 Megs, well, have a look at the linked youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqsv1UtQQd0

ok. so there we have confirmation, and its been backed up on tfw2005 and seibertron.com, that the tanker truck is megatron. Interesting, and i'm actually digging the look alot. especially the cloak when its on the shoulder.

what about you all are you digging it? post below.

Quickie post: DOTM Toys leaked (no direct link)

Ok so over the past day and a half we've seen leaked images of transformers DOTM Bumblebee, the tanker truck, and Ironhide. no links this time as hasbro is gettin mad about these leaks.

Bumblebess: I actaully really like how this looks minus the odd grey blob on his bood, is that an out of place cannon?

Tanker Truck: Allegedly *SPOILER* Megatron *SPOILER OVER* I like the look of the toy but want to see more before i pass judgement

Ironhide: Rumor has it he'sa leader class this time around. As long as he doenst have the issues the voyager molds have had, and isnt godforsakenly fiddly to transform like the HFTD "delux" version was, then color me interested. i need to see a review first though. love Movieverse Ironhide, but he's been plauged with decidely mediocre toys, IMHO.

In package shots of upcoming RTS and Generations figures

Wow, its been a long time since i've posted on here. I was originally gonna post a rather ranty and angry post on here back llike 2 weeks ago about how certain people are only fans of this one girl in the NErd community because she is somewhat attractive. Frankly, in short. i find her short videos of little substance, and her jump cuts are annoyign as all hell. that and she fails to recognize that most of her recent exposure is comgin from the fact that G4 made fun of her mispronouncing Cataclysm and Catack-a-lysm. anyway, thats another rant for another time.

Today, 6 days out from Christmas Day, wer'e here to talk about some in package photos of some Transformers Revela the shield (RTS from now on) and Generations figures due out in jan/february.

Here's the link: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/new-official-images-of-generations-rts/20423/

So, lets go down the line. siebertron starst us off with 3 photos of Wreck-Gar from RTS. I am very much in love with this figure, and as anyone who reads this knows, i have him pre-ordered on bigbad. Two things i wanna highlight here. 1) I'm really digging the product art they have on the front of the packaging. 2) I'm digging how the legs appear to be fformed from the top half of the motorcycle and how the spinny-death-mace-axe seems to be just partially folded up and pegged into a wheel so it becomes an exhaust system. I dig me nifty, intuitive transformations and nifty weapons storage.

Next, we have 3 images of perceptor. Having seen a couple early reviews of this guy, i think i can say that my only major gripe is the lack paint-apped detail in Alt mose. But thats what gundam markers are for! Also, call the legs weird looking and awkwardly skinny then chunky, btu i am diggin the legs alot. I also dig the transformation on this guy, as i've seen in the reviews. also, its no surprise i love that head mold.

3rd up to the plate is RTS G2 Optimus. Now, i've actually taken this guys off pre-order since i last posted on him i believe. Why you ask? well simpy put, while i do like the character and the overall mold for this toy, he's not exactly high on my wants list. I dont mind the colors in all mode, but here's my gripes: 1) the smallish groove in his sword: I know that plays into his weapons storage somehow, or i assume it does, but i dont like the fact that the sword has a hole in it for a transforming hilt. Also it seems a bit short. 2)The HEad mold. While the head is iconically prime, somethign about it just irks me, maybe its the beady eyes. I just get more of a nemesis prime feel from this mold, you know like and R.i.d Scourge Homage, than i do an Optimus feel. Hasbro, do the obvious repaint of this mold please. One can never have enough nemesis primes.

Hitting Cleanup we've got the repaint of Classics Bumblebee into the charaters movieverse color scheme. I do like this mold (i have the cliff jumper version) but idk how i feel about the paint scheme. I slightly prefer what the original iteration of this mold had. I may pick this guy up at retail, but idk.

Scourge: YEa i love this figur. looks so nice in package and base on reviews i've seen. Recently put my preorder for this guy back up on TFsource. I'm really digging this guy. Now all i need is a classics galvatron to display him and cyclonus with (goes to ebay....)

Seargant Kup: YEa, really digging this. have him pre-oredered on bigbad. love the reviews i've seen on him. i love the playability with the rifle. the enginerring of the shoulders with the wheel is kinda of a let down, but i'm being nitpicky. The head scultp has grown on me, and 3rd party company Igear is wokring on a more comic accurate head wiht Kup's Cy-gar, so i may get that if its not too pricey. yes the alt mode is panel-y but i dont care.

So thats my take on these images, whats yours? comment below or post on youtube your thoughts

Interesting reveal of upcomgin toys from walmart computer system

Link: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/rumour-new-transformers-from-walmart-computers/20294/

Ok guys, back for another quickie post. So, at the above link are listings of recently released or upcoming transformers as listed as inventory in a Walmart computer. Most of them we know about, so below i've listed the more intriguing ones.

1) TRA VOYAGER BULKHEAD: A new voyager bulkhead? i really dont know what to make of this, are they re-doing the animated figure in a non-scla issue way for the classics line? Is this the toy for TF:Prime Bulkhead? If so i really really want. Until we know more info though i'm reserving my official verdict

2) TRA VOYAGER RATCHET: A non-movieline voyager ratchet? yes have some! we havent really had a stellar ratchet toy recently if you ask me. I do like deluxe ratchet from universe 2.0, but idk non of the movieverse ratchet figures are great too me. If this is TF:Prime Ratchet, i will be very happy. very very happy.

3) TRA VOYAGER SOUNDWAVE: The only thing i can think of for this is TF:Prime soundwave, and so far, i'm not keen on a toy of the TF:prime soundwave. i need to see reviews first if thats what this is.

4) TRA DLX APELINQ: hihgly intrigued here. http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Apelinq . Very cool character and interesting how he was a botocn exclusive BEast machines continuity repaint of transmetal 1 optimus primal from beast wars. and apparently he started the Wreckers again. color me intirgued to see what they do with this. Maybe this will leade to an updated Apeface? just hypothesizing.

5) TRA LEADER ALPHA TRION: wow, yay and bought as long as he's not too pricey and i dont hate the look of the toy. may be a pre-order.

6) TRA DLX ARCEE: is this TF prime Arcee? if yes. probably bought i really like TF prime arcee's design

7) TRA LEADER OPTIMUS: Is this TF: Prime Optimus? if so, me likey. hopefully it comes with the gun. i kinda wanna see what they toy looks like before i invest in this leader class figure.

8) TRA LEADER MEGATRON: Is this TF: Prime Megs? if so, me likey. hopefully it comes with the blade and such. hoep the head isnt butchere. Worried about how Grey he is in the show and how that will translate to the toy. i kinda wanna see what they toy looks like before i invest in this leader class figure.

Thats it for me. comment below and yea.

a quickie on Knight Morpher Annihilator

Hey all no lin wiht this post just a quick hit of my opinion on Mastermind Creations's upcoming release: Knight Morpher Annihilator, a repaint of the knight morpehr commander.

unless they solved the issues that plagued the knight morpher commander, i.e. joint issues in the shoulders and such). i cannot justify $100 before shipping on this toy. Especially because while its a niche item, its not that popular, as a lot of people were turned off by the initial problems wiht the KMC so yea.

More official images

Hey guys, so as i said last post, i'm back mostly. in that it's thanksgiving break, i have 0 academic commitments today, so i can post here again finally! Hopefully you missed me. I'll try and post here as often as i can after fall break, but i cant guarantee anything as that three week period is a hug push for me with work. anyway, onto the commentary.

Linky linky: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-generations-classics-30-35/reveal-the-shield-wave-2-and-generations-wave-6-official-images-170942/

OK so here we got official images of Transformers RTS (reveal the shield) wave 2 and generations wave 6 figures. We;vee seem most of these before, but why not commentate?

Lets brake ti down by character:

PErceptor: Been digging this guy for the moment i saw him the lower legs are still abit too chunky for me, but i am sill really diggin this guy and am not about to cancel my pre-order of him. say what you will about the alt mode and him not having a microscope mode, but reports surface very early on that the bunlk fo the influence for this toy was comign from TF: ANimated PErceptor's animation model and art in the Allspark Almanacs, so yea. I have no problems with him being a half track SUV. Oh and about the lack of paint apps in alt mode? i dont care, thats what gundam markers are for.

Wreck-Gar: Robot mode photo is at the top fo the link. I have really wanted a geeewunny Wreck-Gar ever since i got into TFs and thats why i'm so enthralled wiht this guy. HE's very much a win for me from his asymmetry down to the fact that he's a bike-former. Animated wreck gar never really did it for me, so yea. hreally happy to have this one on pr-order.

G2 Prime: the recent sentiment was expressed on the WTF at TFW podcast that the alt mode seems a bti cartoony and that the colors are weird. I totall see that. The fusion from the balck to the blue in alt mos is weird, as is the redness on the bumper. but i am all over that robot mode and that sword. this figure is pre-ordered. and I swear, if Hasbro doesnt do the obviodu repaint of this into Nemesis Prime, i'm gonna call shenanigans.

Classic bumblebee redeco: YEa i know its bumblebee, but lets face it, the Classics BB was one of the better iterations of the character in recent memory, plus, he actually doesnt look half bad with the movie-verse stripes on him. considering my disdain for Movie BB i may pick this classic iteration up the fill the small vehicle hole in my collection.

Scourge: I"m all over this robot mode, which is why i have him pre-ordered. dont get me wrong, i love the alt mode as well, i'm just worreid the white is gonna be reallly drab in person and that he's gonna need some panel line pickes out.

Kup: there's a hug demand for this toy, and i really want him so he's pre-ordered. Here's the thing though. I can see a lot of peopl not liking this based on the fact that this toy is not photographing well. Its a combination of the fact that every shot has him posed poorly or badly and the fact that the expression on the face can be either yelling or angry. I prefer angry myself and i dont mind the head sculpt, but the awkward posing is nto helping the figure in terms of pre-order appeal. Case in point, the photo thats the official shot at the link above. it honestly looks like Kup is that crotchety old transformer who is retired from service, has his owen place in Iacon and is yelling at the young transformers to get off his "lawn". It's not a flattering pose for the toy. The alt mode is awesome and think the demand for a Kup toy based off his character should outweigh both of the aforementioned negatives (it does for me), but we'll see.

Well thatsit for me guys.

Comment below, let the world know you thoughts.

I'll see you around the blogosphere

hey guys, i'm back

Hey all i'm back for a couple of quick post based off some new official images we got. First up is this post where i'm gonns focus breifly on Transformers RTS (reveal the shield (yay rubsigns!!)) wave 2 voyager Deep Dive.

linky to the photo: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/7/3/8/6/3/seaspray_1290143918.jpg

Now, he's just a repaint of HFTD (as they marketed him (i call him Generations)) Seaspray, but honestly, i am really digging this repaint. I honestly thing the fact that we have another winning color scheme on an already awesome toy plays a huge part in me liking it. See, i'm one of those people who enjoys a good green and black pain scheme on a transformer. Also, at least from this preview image, the yellow area see, to be a great color offset to the green and balck. Based off the name, i guarantee you there's gonna be some mention of him be able to camoflage (spelling?) really well in the deepest depths of the ocean. Will be interesting if the make him a decepticon, though the spot where the rub-sign is is blantantly autobot shaped. I would like a 'Con repaint of this mold down the link. maybe with a new head and make it female? Just a thought.

Anyway, as always guys, Comment below, Let the world know.

an update

Hey all who follow this, i know i've been very absent from blogging for almost a month. I just simply havent had the time to take a chunk out of my mornings to enter something on my mian blog, and i'll be honest, there nothign i've been compelled to write on for this blog. I'm only enterign seomthign now cause i', skimming the Aeneid as i cant get into it and we're too rushed in going through it. anyway, thats a rant for another time on my main blog.

Here;s the point: if there is an update this week, it'll most likely be on friday, but dont expect one. more than likely, i'll put something up the friday before break starts, the 19th, as i wont be doing work that AM, nor will i be doing any that afternoon befroe i get the shuttle to dayton. so yea. I'll try and update regularly over break.

But after break things are gonna get a bit insane again. in that 2 week period i'm ognna have my senior presentation and a small presnetation for history of psych, as well as final papers and stuff to do. Oh and Dance Alloy stuff. so don;t expect much from me from the 28th- December 13th or so. but after all that finals stuff, i'm on break, so yea!

just wanted update you all. essentially something i do for fun had to go on hiatus at some point and yea. I'd rather it be this than reviews on youtube.

quckie post: RTS bumblebee and Xovergen grand patriot

Hey all who follow me here. i'm nto dead, justg mad busy.

links: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-generations-classics-30-35/previews-previews-reveal-the-shield-bumblebee-170808/

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/crossovers-12/xovergen-grand-patriot-in-color-170807/

Ok so breif commentary. RTS (Reveal the shieeld)Bumblebee is a repaint of the classics version wiht the movievers black stripes. As much as i like this, i might pass on this TBH. the mold is nice, but idk nothing is compelling me to get this iteration of it.

But in bigger news: Xovergen's grand patriot, whcih was in grey proto this summer is now painted. modele after "ROlling Thunder Optimus Prime" from the GI Joe and Transformer crossover comics, OMG does this figure loook bad ass. I really hope he is available for the holiday season, or for like february or march. that and i hope he aint too expensive.....

more photo goodness!

Links: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/transformers-2010-voyager-strafe-lugnut-and-grapple-official-images-170732/

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-generations-classics-30-35/transformers-generations-kup-170734/

Ok so lets get crackin on thses "official images".

Lugnut (the photo at the top by the text and the first one below the text): WOW, i am impressed, to anyone who follows me on here, i was really not digging the mistransformed lugnut we saw via a fuzzy cell phone camera from cybertoncon. But looking at these offical product shots, i am in love wiht this re-do of the character. i loved the animated version, but it had the flaw of being way to short. hopefully this guy doesnt have the same issue. The arms seem a bit long and i'm iffy on the two white teeth like protusions underneath his eye, but those ar minor issues at best. i love the deco and the charcater. Due out in decmeber, this figure went from inital pass to pre-order for me, as i'm sure he did for several other people.

Next up is grapple. Marketed under Solor Storm Grappel due to copyright lossage, this guys is a redeco/ remold of Inferno. Finally grapple gets a modern toy. Yeah, this figure was hotly anticiapted for me and so i've pre-ordered him from TFSource. HE's also due out in Decemeber. I love the charatcter and this mold. I'm intrigued to see how the crane is marketed as a weapon. loving the headsculpt too. cannot wait for this guy. the only gripe i have is thta i kinda wish he had a gun and that the black stripes were on both of the top panels in the back in the alt mode.

Third up is Strafe. He's a ROTF minwipe repaint. while i cont mind the reapint and i do like the mold. i just dont see Strafe in the headsculpt. they coulda at least given him a new head. and the colors dont work wiht "sunspot" (the skystalker repaint). Honestly, i think i;m gonna pass on this guy.

ok so now at the seocnd link we have mucho more awesomeness, so lets continue

Ok so with the photos at this second link, i'm just gonna comment on things we havent seen from the figures before. I believe most of these are gonna be Reveal the shield. so yea.

Jazz: We get photos of his robot and alt mode otu of package. i already have him pre-ordered because i seriously love me some classics Jazz. The flip out speakers are awesomely g1. i'm a bit iffy on the legs and the lack of paint apps on the gun, btut thats not enough to cancel my pre-order. I'm digging that they seemd to use the same bone white they used wiht TFA jazz on this guy. oh and theres a photo of the speakers folding out in alt mode too. AWESOME! sooo happy he's preordered

Perceptor: We finally have phtoo of both modes. they said at botcon that this would be a heavy homage to his TFA design from the allspark almanacs and that one episode of the show. and i have to say, i totally see it. i'm loving the cunkyness of the lower legs. the upper legs seem a bit spindly, but i dont mind that. i'm a bti worried that he has one fo those crotches that plugs together, and i'm not a big fan of that desgin, but i can overlook it. The thing that tickles my fancy the most though is the head. Just the amount of character in it and the design really grabs me. It defintily has a cartoony feel wihtout being overly cartoony. If hasbro can continue to engineer head like this, and the one on WreckGar, i'm going to be happy. once we get a pre-order for perceptor, consider me doing just that

Tracks: another shot of the robot mode. woo. he's preordered.

Wreck-Gar: I've loved this guy from the moment we saw him. both modes look amazing and the detail is incredible i love how g1 the crest on the head is and omg the face-sculpt on Wreckgar. I'm honestly speechless, and very impressed. and that spinny axe weapon looks deadly. Alt mode looks awesome. i think Wreck-gar might single handedly up the bar for Bike-formers. cant wait for a pre-order.

Transformers united Lugnut and Straxxus: Straxxus i'm mildly impressed by but i'm fine with the Generations hasbro version. Lugnut, i love the more TFA color scheme and all but i much prefer the update that Hasbro is doing.

And now the best for last, and the only one to get direct links this post. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/1/United-Kup-Vehicle_1286982376.jpg

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/1/United-Kup_1286982376.jpg

yeah, you can read in the URL there. Its Kup! granted this is the Transformers United (aka Henkei) version due for release in february, so the US version probably wont be exactly like this and probably wont see a release until march or so, but yea. so, lets go over the alt mode first. Nothing really bugs me about this mode other than it seems the panels arent lined up on one of the door, but then again, thats either a phtographer mistake, or it was purposefully done. Either way, thats my only gripe on this mode.

no for the robot mode. you might wanna hit CTRL and the plus key to zoom in. anyway, i do really dig the look of it,btu i can see a lot of people not likeing it. for me, i have thre niggling issues with this mode. 1) the wheels up be his shoulders. it seems the front wheels from alt mode just pull out and swiong up, or theyre attached to his arms. Either way, that desgin choice kinda irks me. i would preferred they do something wiht those wheels like they did with TFA rodimus' front wheels. somtehing about the strut that the pin joint is on sticking up where it does irks me. that and the actual shoulders and not the pads seems a bit low, btu i assume thats mistransformation 2) the amrs seems to be fixed into the door panels and i really am not a fan of that design choice. 3) the gun/rifle sticks a bit too far out to be underslung. i'm just hoping again this is mistransfomration and you can rotate the gun arm around. because it looks like he has a wrist swivel on the other arm. and if he doesnt on the gun arm and that hand is just molded to face down grabbing part of the gun, that is weaksauce and makes for some awkward posing.

Negatives aside though, i am digging Kup massively. he's gonna go fast, so i might pre-order him. we'll see.

Well thats all for me guys. comment below if you can.

Igear repaints thier Faith Leader, Space shuttle discovery being filmed for TF3, another new 2-pack and a japanese 3rd party figure!

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/other-news-20/igear-ultra-leader-and-evil-leader---ultra-magnus-and-shattered-glass-recolors-170664/

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/space-shuttle-discovery-to-be-filmed-for-transformers-3-this-wednesday-170679/

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-generations-classics-30-35/battle-in-space-box-set-hot-rod-vs-cyclonus-170671/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/jizai-toys-moonracer-revealed/19921/

Hey guys. four sotires to cover today so lets get crackin.

Ok so third party company Igear released a mini masterpiece optimus prime a few years back whihc they named Faith Leader for copyright issues, form what i saw it was nice looking a pretty affordable for a third party figure (we're talking Warbot Defender prices. Now htird parties like fansproject have been innovating alot these past few years so everyone expected somethign new from Igear. and guess what, they didnt innovate theyre simple repainting the Faith Leader into Ultra Magnus and shattered Glass Prime. Innovation fail. While these figures do look nice, theyre absurdly overpriced at $110 and $120 respectively. so yea pass.

Secondly, apparently theyre flimign the space shuttle Discovery for TF3. MovieVerse Sky-Lynx anyone?????????

Thirdly, remeber that challenege at cybertron 3 pack that was an Eastern Market exclusive and a prize at AA2010? well they've scrapped the Galvatron toy and marketing the cartoon accruate Cyclonus and Hot Rod in a 2 pack called "Battle in space" and they come wiht a mini matrix of leadership. I'm honestly really tempted to get this, mainly just for the cyclonus (so i'd have a representation of "and his armada") and the matrix. that way, if i get the protector armor for the holidays i can have the matrix ina display that looks like hot rod become Rodimus Prime. I plan on using the armor on ,my classics hot rod so yea. only problem with the 2 pack is the pre-order is like $25 on bigbad pre-shippinig whcihc seems a bit much to me for 2 deluxes. and the 2pack sint due out until december.

Lastly, Japanese third party company Jizai toys is apparently making a full on figure named Moonracer. Looks pretty nifty. check out the tfwiki for info on this obcure female transformer. I just hope the price isnt too high. I may end up naming her Chromia or soemthing. we'll see if i get here.

thats it for me. comment below.

Takara TFA Ramjet coming out and TF Prime influx

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/takara-animated-voyager-ramjet-announced/19879/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-prime-starts-now-bulkhead-soundwave-starscream-and-main-cast-revealed/19880/

Wow has this be a great day for news. First up Takara Tomy announced that theyre doing a voyager version of TFA Ramjet, a figure the USA did not get at all. While i do want this guy, Ramjet will undoubtedly be another repaint of starscream and at leats my sopy of TFA starscream has mold issues on the cockpit automorphing gimmick. i can only imagine people are having the same issue now. but yea, while i am excited about this, i cant justify to myslef paying top dollar to import a glorified overgrown activator. I'll buy the classics ramjet off of ebay.

Now, for once the TV show has outdone the toyline. well a tv show. there was a massively epic TF:Prime reveal earlier today. We got to see alt mode from prime and arcee in full detail, we got to see both modes of bulkhead, we got to see the the decepticon tropper leader, we got to see robot modes for starscream and soundwave, and we got bios on all the robto and human characters. I'm not gonna touch on the bios much, because for the most part, i have no issue with them. I'm gonna touch on the actual photos, which you can see at the second link above or at this one: ( http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/hubworld-official-launch---transformers-prime-character-renders-games-and-more-170643/ )

Let iron out the negatives first. Optimus's alt mode looks bland as F*** from the angel we're given, btu i love the robot mode so i'm excusing the blandness. Soundwave is a big negative for me out of the gate, i'm not feeling the animation model or much of the bio right now. I especially dont like how he looks anorexic and how his hands are designed with relation to his wings. If a toy comes out i can just see the wings being cheap flip-out fragile rubbery hands that are highly visible in alt mode. This design just does not do it for me at all. Starscream is a mild fail for me, i low his bio and his overall aestehtic, but he seems too spindly for a robot at least in my tastes. I cant help but get the feeling that Starscream is a more flamboyantly skinny version of Dr. Frankenfurter from Rock Horror when i look at how thin he is.

sorry if i offenede anyone just then.

Now to thte positives. Everything abotu cliffjumper and Arcee is win. I also really dig the humans and thier bios. Bumblebee is also surpringly enough a win, and i'm nto a fan of movieverse bumblebee (although TF:prime isnt movieverse, its in the WFC continuity but still). but by far and waya the biggest win from TF Prime for me is bulkhead. I cannot put into words how i feel about his desgin, thats how much in love wiht it i am. I'm goign to quote one of my good freinds in the transformers community, Touya (Links after this to his schtuff) on his reaction as it pretty much echoes how i feel " Can I just say right now, Bulkhead, I love you, bro. Good to see you again. Looking good. New polish? Wax? " he continues: " #
Like, it's so awesome, I want to cry when I look at him, because I know he's still the same Bulkhead who I grew to love in TFA....and knowing that his best friend is a girl who teaches him to not be such a softie, that's just an amazing angle for the character. I just love the big and gentle characters, gets me every time. And I can totally see a plotline where the girl is in danger and he goes apeshit, barrels through decepticons, nearly kills Megatron, all to save her, not realizing what he's done till after."

YEa, what more can be said. They don't call Touya the Articulate Gamer for nothing. alhtough this isnt gaming, you get my point. anyway, you can find Touya on the Bulltoid podcast (i'm sure he'll ad a link) as well as on youtube as touya82tt, on his gaming blog, thearticulategamer.blogspot.com . I believe thats everythign he's invovled him, but if i'm wrong, he'll correct me. :)

anyway, thats it for me guys. Thanks for reading, and please leave any comments or feedback below.

Generations and PCC reveals out the Wazzoo!!!

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/new-images-of-transformers-united-cliffjumper-and-more/19834/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/official-images-of-generations-cliffjumper-skullgrin-and-thunderwing/19841/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/official-images-of-scout-windcharger-and-brimstone-repaint/19839/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/official-images-of-power-core-combiners-grimstone-with-dinobots-and-steamhammer-with-constructicons/19840/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/official-images-of-hunt-for-the-decepticons-mindset-and-fallback/19842/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/official-images-of-generations-special-ops-jazz-and-turbo-tracks/19843/

commentary:

Ok, so all i really care about in that first link is the cliffjumper and henkei megs. theyre re-ssiues punchign gimmick prime. oy. but yea. theres a rumor they removed the chrome form the original henkei megs and are scaling this re-issues down to a delxe. which is fine by me, as long as it released over here. i'm gonna get him, btu if he's that grey, he's gonna need some gundam marker work.... Now also in the first link, we've got a photo of the robot mode for WFC/Generations/United cliffjumper. Now he is just straight bumblebee repaint, btu the head is different. this was to be expected. oh and btw, United is what theyre calling henkei over in Japan sarting in december. In the second link we have a photo of the alt mode. I'm really digging this clfiffjumper. i already love this mold. so i cant wait to get this guy.

Also in the second link we have reveals for Generations Skullgrin and Thunderwing. I'm diggin skullgrin, even if the mold is so iconically straxxus. I'm really diggin how they updated the head sculpt and made the grey a dark grey and the pink a more purpley pink. I'm really digging skullgrin, but i can see people passing on him. plus i can just come up with a fanboy reason why hsi alt mode is so similar to straxxus'. as for thunderwing, i know jack about this charcater, but this toy is pretty nice. i'm diggin the removable guns from the underside of the jet and how the jet has and energon megatron feel to it. Also, i just really dig the head sculpt and the colorization in the robot mode. this guys probably bought. not right away, but pretty high up there. i really like him

thie third link gives us the image for a brinstone repaint and photos of windcharger. both scouts. I'm gonna be honest. The brinstone repiant does jack S*** for me. It doesnt grab me at all. windcharger looks awesome though. not sure what the magnet ports are for, but he has the 3mm clip points on his arms, so i can give him a gun or something. honestly, all this 3mm clip interaction is really making me want a REcoon Ironhide from ROTF. btu yea. windcharger looks soo awesome. especially for a scout and that pricepoint. i can see him goign real fast.

Briefly befor i proceed, we've also gotten news that theyre goin to re-release generation 2 laserrod optimus prime in generations. this is awesome. this figure was repainted into R>I>D scourge, and the mold is awesome.

ok so for the third to last link up top we finally get massively photshopped photos of the power core combiners (PCC) dinobots set and the same for a constructicons set. I'm really digging both sets, surprisignly as i've not been a fan of this toyline so far. Plus, you cant tell me that having a combiner dinosaur team named "Extinction" (which i'm calling them) is not BAMF.

after that we have images of HFTD mindset and fallback. the latter is suposed to be an homage to Outback from g1, but i just dont see it. plus, they use the movie-verse brawn mold, and as much as i love that figure, its kinda a weak mold overall. Fallback is sadly probably a pass. As for Mindset, i'm not as moved by this figure as i thought i would be. i like the colors, but the missile are still annoying and something about the head sculpt just irks me. i'll probably get this figure, but not right away.

Lastly, we have mroe photos of Tracks and a couple of Jazz. Tracks i wont cover cause i talked about him last night. but wow. Look at that Jazz figure. while the alt mode seems a bit squished in that photos and the head seems a smidge too round, i am seriously digging that figure. its such a straight homage to g1. but where's the "flip out speakers" rumored to be on the toy at Botcon this year? did they scrap that idea?

Comment below on these link guys. i wanna hear what you think.

Thunderwing alt mode: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/3/9/4/0/7/transformers-generations-thunderwing-vehicle-mode_1285099344.jpg

Commentary:

ok so lets talk about Tracks. His robot mode looks awesome. though i swear those arms can come downa bit lower on that hinge. really digin the look of this and seems like the gave him a gun as well (look at the hand on the left of the screen). i really like how it looks like a straight update of g1. the arms could be white as well with black hands or something but this is fine. this guy is probably pre-ordered for me anyway as soon as his pre-order goes up. for Tracks's alt mode, all i have to say is wow! its sooo awesome!!!!!!!!!!

ok to Wreck-Gar and Perceptor. wow, hours after we get news that wreck-gar is listed in walmart stock for the fall we get a photo of him from the TFCC magazine and omg wow. The wheel on the right leg seems kinda big but i'm sure thats jus the angle. but wow, that weapon is beast, and OMFG the face sculpt detailing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! commentary fail much?

Perceptor's alt mode looks awesome. he's gonna be gotten. really hope they make Trailbreaker form this mold.

lastly, the shit shot of thunderwing. alt mode looks nice if a bit bland.

comment below.

i'm Zack. peace

No US release for Challenge at cybertron and CrazyDevy's Master commader power parts!

Links: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/challenge-at-cybertron-not-getting-us-release-two-pack-release-for-ironhide-and-bonecrusher-170582/

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/cdmw-12-master-commander-power-parts-revealed-170584/

Hey all, i just realized the unintentional innuendo in the title of this post. Whoops.

anyway. so aapparently the challenege at cybertron set is not getting a US release as was exclusive to the Asisan market and the people who went to Auto Assembly who got it. honestly, i'm not too broken up about this, while the Cyclonus re-color is very nice (and i could use a toy representation of "and his armada") the Hot rod recoloring doesnt grab me and the Galvatron re-deco is nice, but the toy is crap. The stuff of more interest in the first link are the rumored two-packs comign to a walmart near you soon:

Movie line Voyager Starscream and deluxe Mudflap. The second which we've suspected for a while contains Movie line voyager Ironhide and deluxe Bonecrusher. Rumors hold this second two pack is made of the unknown blue version ("offroad") of Recon Ironhide and a battle-damaged 2007 movieline Bonecrusher. Once again i have a feeling of "meh" Voyager starscrem from the movieverse has never done it for me, and they are contiually milking Mudflap to death. Doesnt hasbro know few people like that toy to begin with?!?!?!?!?!?! I'm not enthused about the "battle damaged" bonecrusher. 1) he's a charcater who's been dead since the 2007 movie in that continuity and 2) battle Damage is an overused repaint gimmick. the repainted recon Ironhide seems ok.......

And now to CrazyDevy's Master Commander Power parts! so the third party compnay who's been releasing bits and pieces to updtae your g1 devastator and Superion, has now upgraded a already issued 3rd party item (the TAW god sword) and upped the price significantly. the God sword already got mixed reviews when it came out, so i think i'll pass, even if ti looks awesome. What crazyDevy needs to do, is get a hold of that Battle Rollar figure and re-release him!

MP Rodimus NEWs

He transforms from Rodimus to Hot Rod! he has a trailer! He's being released in January 2011 in japan (which probably mean holiday 2011 for the US).

He's gona retail, pre shipping from Japan, for approx. $202.

I think i have a new holy grail. $202 is wayy out of my price range

another movie news post: SPOILERS!!!!

ok. so. another day, another transformers post. This one is movie news and its kinda spoilery, so you've been warned.

*********************************************

Ok, so you were warned, so if youre still reading, i'm assuming you want the news. so here it is

link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/more-transformers-3-spoilers-and-rumors-from-detroit-170570/

So a few days ago, photos of a weird wired thing appeared on TFW2005. i dindt look at those, but looking at these photos of it being lowered, i cant help but join the bandwagon that its a properly done combiner foot. the question is, which combiner? given the fasct that its crushing a car, i'm gonna go ahead and say decepticon. so that leaves us with Menasaur (stunticon combiner team) or one of the beast combiners, but given that foot, i'm gonna say its a vehicle former as i dont thik they'd just have a normal CGI'd foot fly in at some point. there's also speculation that its falling debris. Now i could see that, but the base is too smooth for that if you ask me.

Secondly a few weeks ago there was talk of a jet engine appearing on set as a prop for something. The jet engine was all movieverse-ized and whatnot, peopel were speculating what it was, but now a report has been leaked from one of the extras for the detroit filming essentially saying there the engine is part of the main antagonists alt mode. the scene they were filmign with the prop engine (pun intended) in detroit was for a scene that will tke place in chicago in the movie and its where the main villain transforms and reveals himself and says his the orchestrator of the transformer "chaos" on earth. Then Bumblebee, Ratchet, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and the Ferrari-bot battle him. Apparently, Prime, Ironhide, and Josh Duhamel's chacater are involved elsewhere in a subplot.

he subplot sounds interesting, but this part also sounds like bumblebee is in charge. oy vey. but yea. interesting that wheeljack is confirmed, is he the blue mercedes scientist bot that has the fiber-optic "hair" and looks like Einstein in the head sculpt? if so, the name "Q" was tyoical misinfo. Please let Wheeljack be voiced by Doc Brown from back to the future #' 1-3 though. Interesting that we dont have a name for the ferrari bot yet.

I for one think the main antagonist is Shockwave, and he'll be a big purple jet in the movie, but the will be massively out of scale in the toyline. I hope that Michael bay didnt botch unicron up and make him a plane. or maybe the villain is someone different who shockwave secretly answers to.

Speculate below!

Hey all, told you this blog wasnt dead!

links: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/fansproject-shadow-scyther-revealed/19686/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/update-color-scheme-image-of-fansproject-shadow-scyther-armor/19716/

Two links 1 story, sounds like a bad fanfic website for Legend of Zelda.

Anyway, we're not here to talk about that, we're here to discuss the links. ok so they both link to information on the Shadow Scythe armor, a repaint of the upcoming protector armor (which has a december release) from Fansproject. Apparently the shadow Scythe armor (no easy acronym there) is due out prior. Problem is, the color scheme works on for two super exclusive and rare figures, Henkei Wildrider or Botcon Shattered Glass Rodimus. The former is the cheapest option, but still commands at minimun $60 on ebay and such. So unless you already have one of those versions, the Shadow scythe armor is kinda meh. Its a product that's already retailing for aroudn $80 and you're paying at best a minimum of that for one of the figures its ideally designed for. I'm sorry but its not worth that to me to have a nemesis rodimus.

The plus for theis dark redeco though is that the color scheme is glorious and its come witha motherf-ing scythe. every time i've type Scthe, i've accidentally typed Scyther, and this is not a pokemon thing. :) and i misspelled it there too, wow. anyway,i kinda of see the point of this, btu unless i get the challenge at cybertron 3pack and get someone to repaint that rodimus for me into the appropriate colors to match this armor, i'm not gonna be getting this.

The protector armor is on my holiday wish list.

Now for you guys, comment below with your take on the armor.

see you next post.

offifical images of some HFTD toys, a MP Rodimus rumor, and Headrobots update

Hey guys back for another post.

Links:

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/new-hunt-for-the-decepticons-and-power-core-product-images-82010-170500/

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/rumor-masterpiece-rodimus-coming-to-us-without-trailer-170502/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/new-image-of-headrobots-hothead/19661/

Commentary: Ok so with the HFTD toys, we've seen most of these before. The only ones i might pick up if extra money comes my way are Firetrap (because i love the names and i dont have the mold), Axor (like the mold and the changes, btu the alt mode needs some detail work badly), Highbrow (wonky lower arms aside, i love both modes and the concept of this guy) and Sunspot (with Skystalker's pricpoint being a bit much for me for troopbuilding, if i see this guy around, i will buy multiples for just that reason. i love the mold and it begs to be troopbuilt). The PCC figures do little to make me want them, and anyway i can save $ so i can hit up btocon 2011, i will use. hopefully that sentence made grammatical sense. but yea. THose are the figures i like and why.

story 2: so when MP rodimus comes to the US, its probable he wont have his trailer. this is fail, even if its to cut down on costs. he's nto slated to come out until Feb 2011 in Japan so expect a US release around the end of 2011 at the earliest. still if he just comes w/o his trailer and as just the robot that changes from Rodimus to Hot rod and then to Hot Rod's alt mode, thats kind of lame. The Trailer is the whole poitn of Rodimus. Although Energon Rodimus didnt have a trailer, and thats a mildly successful toy. I'm honestly not liking this rumor, and i'm taking it with a huge grain of salt, like TFW2005 suggests.

Story #3: so Headrobots (a 3rd party company) is doing a headmaster/ guns set for universe Hardhead that apparently also woks for the g1 version and g1 Chromedome. All we've had for the longest time is prototype shots. but Seibertron.com has given use actual full color shots. I would prefer the upper part of the head to be painted something other than that cream color, because ti kinda hinders the awesometacularness of the overall head scuplt in my opinion. if i can finance it, i may just pick this up. i may wait for a review first though.

MP Rodimus news and TF3 news

see! i'm not dead!

Links:

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/masterpiece-rodimus-confirmed-to-transform-from-hot-rod-to-rodimus-prime-170491/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/new-videos-of-transformers-3-filming-in-chicago/19650/

Sotry #1: So, apparnelty Takara, at some recent TF event showed the painted version of MP Rodimus. OMG WIN! they've also confirmed he will have a gimmick that will cause him to "transform" from Hot Rod into Rodimus and back. So this confirms a removeable trailer and confirms intricate engineering. however, wiht this dropping only a few months after the protector armor, young collectors like myself are gonna be strapped for cash if we want ot get both. Also, they havent come anywhere close to updating the price-point so its not $200. I have all faith it will drop to around $100, but anythiong more than that, i'm waiting unitl holidays 2011 to grab it. who knows, myabe it'll be out in time for Botcon 2011, which would be epic win. anyway, this figure has received lukewarm reception so far, but i'm digging what Takara has done, i just hope he's not too pricey. btu who knows, after i stock up on stuff at botcon 2011, maybe i'll grab him and then hold back on tf3 toys (as of now the only ones i may get would be megs, soundwave, shockwave, the "wreckers", and the red Ferrari bot). wow i got off topic there. but yea. i like this news.

Story #2: speaking of the movie-verse, the second link has 2 clips some youtuber filmed of more tf3 filming in chicago. two thigns of note from these vids. 1) apparently that red and black airport style fire-truck we're seeing is Sentinel Prime. Well some security guard said i, so i cant give it too much credence. I hoep to whateverhigherpowerisupthere that this isnt sentinel prime though. Cause that such BS if it is. i just hope he gets a different charcaterization than he did in TFA cause i could nto stand his TFA charcaterization. My money is still on movieverse Inferno or Red Alert for this guy. The toy will be otu of scale to the movie, but who cares. Secondly, apparently there's at least 2 jet black SUV's in the decepticon ranks now. whoa re these guys? are they cannon fodder. Unless Bay has messed wiht TF customs and changed one's colorization (like he did making sideswipe silver), i dont see theses guys being runabout and runamuck, especially because theyrs SUV's. Were there any big decepticon cars about that size ever outside the movies? comment below.

Thanks guys, comment below with feedback and an answer to that q.

#49: Seibertron.com gives us a look a Generations Skullgrin's head. Also, WFC Cliffjumper line art thoughts

links: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/first-look-at-generations-skullgrins-head/19578/

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/war-for-cybertron-cliffjumper-lineart-used-in-bumblebees-instructions/18787/

Ok so at the first link we have line art of the Generations Darkmount (Straxxus) repaint/ slight remold a.k.a Skullgrin. Thats right, the g1 Pretender is getting homaged. The line art makes the head look nice, but he's still got the body of Darkmount, and will regardless of its potentially awesome repaint. That and they couldve given him a different weapon that assembled in the same way as Straxxus' does. that being said, unless i'm appalled by the color scheme, i'm gonna get this guy.

NExt up, apparently the line art for WFC Cliffjumper appears in WFC bumblee's instructions. this isnt that exciting outside of it being a clear look at the g1 goodness that WFC Cliffjumper may have. This make me very happy. this repaint/remold is bought as soon as its released.

#48:more photos of Generations Blurr, Derrick J. Wyatt unused TFA art, and the TFA encyclopedia

Links:

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/animated-8/animated-encyclopedia-wingblade-optimus-prime-elite-guard-version-announced-170426/

Hey all, i'm finally back for anohter post. Hope you have all had a good time doing whatever it is you do recetnly. anyway, onto the post

So that first link takes you to photos of Generations drift, the repaint and re-tool of Drift coming out in wave 4. Now, Blurr's head is based off his IDW comic appearances, which is very nifty. I love the heald mold, and i've never read the comics. I'm so digging this figure, and i love the mold. Hell, i've already pre-ordered Blurr and his wave-mate Dirge from TFsource. Dirge is another classic seeker mold release that had previously been only Henkei i think, so yea. all i need for my seekers collection is any "rainmakers", classics starscream, sunstorm, ramjet and thundercracker. I love how awesome you can make blurr look wiht his one long rifle.

2nd sotry: Derrick J. Wyatt's unused TF: animated artwork. I assume he showed these at Auto asssembly, and the neatest ones for me are the one that appear to be a lion-former (making it automatically either Razorclaw or Lio Convoy (the latter is from BWII)) and the "bust" style full color drawing of Star Saber. Now i've barely seen the episodes of Masterforce and such that Star Saber was the Autobot leader, but this update to him is awesome and i wouldve loved to see how he worked into the show had it gone on. I loved the animated aesthetic, it was really well done and incredibly different from shows prior and from the movieverse and it was just great in all show aspects. but at least TF:Prime is coming out sometime soon

3rd story: TF:animated encyclopedia w/ exclusive figure. This is interesting. apparently if you order the Japan-market only Transformers encyclopedia (which i would but i can read japanese) then you get a chance of ordering an exclusive figure based off the wingblade optimus prime mold (which isnt even out yet). said figure looks to be a "Elite Guard" re-deco of the figure. I'm intrigued byt this highly and would get the toy, btu i'm not willing to spend $77 Us pre-shipping (the price of the figure converts to about $57 US) for a book i cant read and a re-deco i may not like. especially when i want to focus on the Generations line this fall and spring before botcon. I may regret this decision later, but its hard for me to get wowed by a figure we only ahve a silhouette and a rumored name for. I'm surprised Hasbro didnt do a "elite guard" repaint of TFA Prime, they did one of bumblebee (which couldnt have been more pointless).

Thats all for me this post. hope you enjoyed. as always, comment below.

#47 a minor TF Prime update

Hey all, so we;ve gotten some new-sh character photos for TF prime including a well lit one of Megatron. Link is below, but i wont be talking about all photos.

Link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/new-transformers-prime-character-images-170407/

Ok so the first photo i'm commenting briefly on is the "main cast shot" which is the thumbnail for the post, which you should expand. anyway, So it appears bumblebee isnt in the core 4. interesting. Rather, the core 4 is Cliffjumper, Arcee, Ratchet an Prime. We knew the last 2 were obvious choices for main groups, but Cliffjumper and Arcee are interesting. Arcee's characterization in the movieverse sux, and while she got a fiar amount for a periphreal charater in TF Animated, i like that she's in the main group, maybe that allows her to be charcaterized smartely. we'll see, i dont know whos voicing her. Cliffjumper is an interesting choice for the main cast for sure, i'm intrigued to hear his voice and see how he is characterized. I like the look of him in both modes, and, dont worry thats one of his hands in front of Prime. I reallylike ethe look of Prime and Ratchet, the latter looks like a tough guy medic and Prime look like a powerful, ominous strong leader bot. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/Transformers-Prime-Cast-Group_1281651540.jpg

Ok, onto the photo of Megatron (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/Transformers-Prime-Megatron_1281651540.jpg). I get a feeling of pure evil form this, maybe its the red eyes and the snarling face. that and hearing the voice Frank Welker is dogin from that clip from TFCon has me amped about this Megatron. I just love the evil aesthetic from him, that has a slight animated influence in the head, but exactly how, i cant point out.

Bumblebee: Alt mode: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/Transformers-Prime-Bumblebee-Car-Front_1281651540.jpg Robot: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/Transformers-Prime-Bumblebee-Robot_1281651540.jpg really digging both, loved the abnormal stripe patterning in alt mode and the exposed engine (cue a hot rod repaint/remold!).

ratchet: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/Transformers-Prime-Ratchet_1281651540.jpg : i just really dig this desgin, nuff said.

Decepticon Trooper (a.k.a. cannon fodder): http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/Transformers-Prime-Trooper-Car_1281651540.jpg : other than the batmobile/ Movieverse lockdown aesthetic on this alt mode, i really dig this. if they make him a toy, he's gonna be troopbuilt.

Here's an idea, what if they made the TF: Prime models as fodder for botcon toys? They could then release variants to the general public. and maybe the botcon ones would only be slightly more show accurate.

#46: Commentary on official photos of Generations and HFTD thus far

links:

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-generations-classics-30-35/new-official-transformers-generations-images-170404/

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/official-hunt-for-the-decepticons-images-170403/

So basically this post is gonna run down eahc photo from each of the above links and give my thoughts.

Most of these figures we already know are coming out or ar all ready out, so yeah.

we'll start with Generations:

Pictures 1-3: Generations Blurr: Love this mold. love the guns and new head. i've already pre-ordered him.

pix 4-6: Cybertronian/WFC Megatron: Something about this figure just doesnt do it for me. ITs not the aestehtic or the character, i just dont like figure. and the alt mode looks like a glorified paperweight.

Pix 7-9: Cybertronian/WFC Soundwave: I like this guy. arms seems a bti spindly, but he oozes g1 so yea. bought later this fall.

the enxt 6 photos are WFC/Cybertonian Prime and Bumblebee, who ever already has and are great figures.

the 2 after that are of Straxxus (Darkmount), and yea this guy is bought. I'm worried about his ankle joint as usual, but what can i do.

Dirge: Pre-ordered. officially love this mold.

Red Alert: pre-ordered. love the mold and yeah. kinda wish the headcrest was red, like the henkei, but you get what you get for the $50 cheaper hasbro version.

and now onto the HFTD figures:

Axor: this remold/redeco is growing on me alot. though i still think he needs some detailing in alt mode.

Battle Blades Bumblebee and Prime: Nothing that blows me away. PAss

Breacher: WANT!!!!!!!!!

green legends devastator: meh, looks too green in combined form.

Banzaitron: Pass, the mold is tooo iconically bludgeon. I'll just wait for the botcon 2009 version to drop down in price.

DustStorm: Repaint of a legends mold i'm not too fond of. pass.

Electrostatic Jolt: I know people arent too excited for this figure, but something about me likes him. i'll get him if i find him. i do like the mold.

Elita-1: Pass. dont like the mold

Firetrap: never got the original deco (scattorshot) and i'm actually really diggin this name. hope he's out soon.

Hailstorm: Push missles aside this mold is rather ingenious for such a small deluxe. i especially love the transformation. pretty much bought later his fall.

Highbrow: wonky lower arms aside, i really like this mold and figure. Dont care for the mask gimmick, but yea. really like the figure and this update to the character.

Insecticon: WANT!!!!

Deluxe Ironhide: MEh

Oil Pan: weird name, meh figure.

Payload: not bad for a redeco.....

Deluxe ratchet: its a repaint of a crappy mold. pass

Sea Attack Ravage: like the mold. this is a useless repaint.

Sunspot: love the mold. might use this for troopbuilding the mold. if i see, i'm getting 2.

Terradive: slated to be ordered.. love this guy and his TRIDENT!

The Fallen repaint: Meh. removable face is nice, but meh.

Tuner Skids (legend and Deluxe): pass. this sis gonna be a shelfwarmer. apparently hasbro didnt get the cue from how poorly tuner mudflap sold.

Ravage infiltration threepack: is scattorshot repainted to Rollbar or Flak? is the Dune Runner Repaint Flak: the labelling makes it hard to tell

Victory of the fallen Legends 5 pack: Meh:

Thats it for me. comment below

#45, Protector comic digital copy, two more ROTF repaints

Hey all, more commentary. but first the sotry links.

Links:

Story #1: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/classics-11/fansproject-protector-pack-in-comic-170386/

Story #2: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/urban-camo-dune-runner-and-rampage-among-the-ruins-ravage-images-170388/

First up on the docket, Fansproject has shown us a digital copy of the pack-in comic wiht their upcomgin protector armor. in the comic, the names are obviously switched for legal issues, but the comic essentially tells the story of Rodimus Prime visitng the Tomb of eternal Heroes where he pays repsects to a "G3" clearly Optimus. This is a refreshing take on this g1 arc. I cant tell which version of megatron they use in the artwork, but it seems the artwork for prime is based off his classics 1.0 toy and comic form, which i'm not arguing with. The comic flahses back and retells the scene fromt eh 86 movie where Hot Rod intevrenes and attmepts to distract Megatron, which ends up causing the latter to do a fatal blow to Prime. Then, what appear to be the Matirx starts glowing from Protector (Rodimus Prime's) chest and re-activates something in the room. That something appears to be the trailer for G3 (Optimus Prime). But its not just the trailer that re-activates its something inside the trailer that does. Now, earlier Protector has previously referred to his help in avenging G3's (Optimus's) death. This help is known as "Guardian" and who knwo what that is, btu i have a sneaking suspicion its the vehicle that comes rolling out of Prime's trailer. now we all know, that little car never talked but was named roller and was tied to prime and his trailer as a scout drone in some episodes of G1. Then, Roller got his own, upgrade toy as "Battle Rollar" a few years ago, whihc i have yet to get, but is awesome. The toy was made by a third party company i believe, so if this is Fansproject's way of hinting they may do their own Roller figrue that transforms? Leave your feedback and dthought on the digital copy of the comic below.

Second up we get looks of a "Urban Camo" version of Dune runner and the paint scheme for ROTF ravage for the Rampage around the ruins set. So basically you get a bumblebee, who is redone frome one of his many ROTF versions, a Red ROTF Rampage and that Ravage in a set re-enacting a ruins battle from the movie where both decepticons got owned, especially Ravage. I dont mind the Ravage mold form ROTF, btu this is another pointless repaint based off a less than iconic scene in the movie. Plus, that bumblebee is not nearly big enough to be posed ripping Ravage apart. You'd need at least the Human Alliance one for that pose. I've heard Red Rampage is a crap toy and i really do not care for movieverse bumblebee so this Ravage, and everything abotu the three pack is worthy of a big ol' "PASSS!" for me. But on the Dune Runner Camo, I actually realy dig it, it looks really sharp on the mold. Still probably wont get it, as i'm aiming to find the beachcomber version of that mold at some point.

Lastly, to anyone who reads this, TFW2005 has posted that TFCC is doing a limited second run of their Punch/Counterpunch figure. If someone would be willing to hook me up with the figure ( i cant affored it right now), then i will be eternally grateful and can reimburse you for shipping in September. I'm not asking people for a toy.

#44: IGear copies Impossible Toys and first review of Generations Terradive

Story links:

#1)http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/igear-mgt-01-delicate-warrior-arcee-170378/

#2) http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-video-reviews/317703-hftd-terradive-review-emgo.html

Hey all, back for another post after non new stuff came up of TFW finally.

First up on the docket, we get a new 3rd party generation 1 arcee. after people were resoundingly underwhlemed by the Impoosible toys Valkyrie one, the folks at Igear took it into their hands to make on which they hope does better. Though, the packaging is eerily similar. and yea. She seems nice, but seeing as we knew net to nothin abotu her until earllier today, i'm on the "wait and see" bandwagon with her. the main dterrents for me right now are 1) how structurally sound she is (that sounds weird) and 2) how expensive she is. i know she has a considerable amount of diecast metal in her, but still, an amount just south of $100 for a limited run 3rd party figure of a character who has not had a good g1 toy in 26 years seemes a bit much to me. also, i'm a bit worried that theyre marketing her as "delicate warrior" that doesnt instill much confidence in me in the quality of the plastic. But, i want feedback from you all. comment below on this

The second story i'm gonna cover invilves more thoughts on Generations Terradive, who is on my list for september. A guy i know on youtube, and apparently a regular liasion to TFW as well, EmGo, posted his review of Terradive. I'm loving the engenuity of the the transformation and just everything about this figure. I'm loving the dark grey, almost gun metal paint app on the lower face, love how the front of the jet transforms in a new-ish way, while still retaining parts that are classic to the jet-former style. plus the trident is awesome. I'm totally displaying this guy next to Darkmount/Straxxus.

see you guys next post.

#43: More info on that universe 2.0/CHUG 3-pack, comments on Generations Terradive and Axor and electrostatic Jolt

so before i begin CHUG, for the uninitiated stands for "Classics, Henkei, Universe Generations", that is any figures from those lines.

Links:

story #1) http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/universe-classics-20-29/images-of-the-universe-challenge-at-cybertron-three-pack-170368/

#2 and #3) http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/image-gallery-for-hunt-for-the-decepticons-terradive-170361/ <---(terradive)

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/new-pictures-of-hunt-for-the-decepticons-axor-and-electrostatic-jolt-170360/ (Axor and jolt)

Lets tackle the target exclusive CHUG 3 pack link first. THis is just further images of each figure in the set in their new colors, which make them more accurate to their incarnations in the 1986 season 3 cartoon. I'm fine wiht this, but i've actually kind of cooled ff on the classics hot rod colors. Theyre nto bad, but i have to original and he's a bit better, and i dont care thta he is accurate to 25 years ago. suprisingly, the Galvatron scheme has grown on me. HE's veyr bland in alt mde, but thats what gundam markers are for, plus, lets hope hes not as bad as the orignal version was. Cyclonus i just love. I might get this pack, we;ll see.

As far as figures i know i'm getting go, lets talk about that second link. images of generations terradive. Love the look of him to say the least love the feautre poitned out on the trident that if you press the middle tab it acts as if its grabbing something.I'm honestly probably just gonna pose this guy holding his tirdent straight up next to him looking all badass. Cause he is. seems more orangey-yelow but i dont mind.

Lastly, lets talk HFTD Axor and Jolt. The GP (gold plastic) on Jolt's arms, legs and behind his head had me really worried, but this coloration still midly redeems this robot jesus of a figure for me. His orginal color scheme, wiht the baby blue was godawful. Though, i'm not feeling the "frosted crest". Another figure that has suprisignly grown on me is that Axor figure, who is apparently and homage to an action master of the same name. HE doesnt look too shabby, but the whitness on his legs and the monotone-ness of his alt mode scream for gundam marker help.

#42: A general update, Brief TF3 news and comments on HFTD Highbrow

HEy any readers of this. I've decided i'm gonna start numbering my posts on here. ANyway, a bit of updateness to start. Video review madness month starts when ROTF skystalker arrives and his review is posted. As such, i'll probably do a text review "extended impressions" of him and my other recent pickups (PCC huffer and Generations Thrust) this Friday after work ends. Thrust and Huffer wont be reviewed on my channel for sometime as i dont wanna flood people with videos, especially when i have TFA Rodimus, Generations Red Alert, and HFTD sidearm Sideswipe still coming down the pipe to me after skystalker. Though, i have cancelled my ROTF Brawn purchase and my Allspark almanac 2 purchaase had been bumped to October, so i may review Thrust or huffer this month.

Anyway, onto the stories.

Links: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/autobot-firetruck-seen-on-set-in-chicago-170338/

and: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-toys--products-30/new-voyager-fallen-and-highbrow-images-highbrow-has-battlemask-170324/

First up, the TF3 news post. It seems theyre putting more and more autobots in this movie. i just hope some have some decent charcaterization or at least one line and not ROTF syndrome. We;ve seen a new, as of now unnamed red Ferrari ( my money is on Cliffjumper (Which negates the repaint of 2007 LAM bumblebee) or Rodimus/Hot Rod. we'll see, either bot needs decent charcaterization though. but at the firts of the above links we have images of a firetruck wiht autobot symbols on set. I'm getting either and Inferno or Ultra magnus vibe from this vehicle. Inferno mainly because if the firetruck form and Ultra Magnus because of the size (reportedly bigger than PRime). IF its UM though, his colorings are off, and not the white abd blue that he characteristically is. Could also be Hot Spot and there not be other Protectobot members. Hell, Silverbolt's in the flick allegedly and i havent heard mention of the other aerialbots.

I'm trying not to get too hyped.

Secondly, the second link. new images of the upcomign HFTD voyage Highbrow. Digging everythign but the battle mask. IT just doesnt work for me. It seems to not cover the entire face as well, leavingt eh mouth exposed. The head sculpt is kind of movie-ish so there's not bland, humanoid mouth expression, just a kinda creeoy mouth. I'm jazzed about the robot mode. I think the hands my rotate out further, cuase if theyre fixed like they are in the photos at the second link up there, thats a minro drawback for me. Sti;; really digging the alt mode and the overall feel of the robot mode. Love the guns too.

Thats all for me for now. See you next post.

Cybertron Con outdoes SDCC a.k.a China Wins!

link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-generations-classics-30-35/images-from-cybertron-con-new-transformers-products-panel---scourge-thunderwing-goldbug-jazz-170308/

Ok so Cybertron con, a China transformers convention thats probably their equivalent of SDCC or Botcon, just outdid the former. At SDCC all HAsbro di was re-hash what they had showed at Botcon. At cybertron con they actually showed photos/slides of figures coming out in the generations/HFTD lines in the spring. Still no word on whien figures like Hailstorm and Highbrow. Though i think theyre due out laterr this year, like fall-ish. But anyway, to the spring's figures.

Jazz: Really like the look. Seems very g1 and very sleek. Seems to have a slight animated feel, at least from this crappy cell-phone shot. i dont see the flip out speakers, but i'm sure the photo is just mis-transformed as usual. really like the look fo this guy and we've needed a good modern reshash of g1 jazz, evn as awesome as animated jazz was. from as far out as the shot is, the head seems very g1 homage-y which is awesome and so generations.

Perceptor: i just got commemorative g1 perceptor in february, and this guy doesnt seem like he has a microscope mode full on, btut hats fine as it looks like he was influenced heavily by the animated perceptor toy deisgn of the figure and SUV/ science vehicle. well, at leats thats what he woulda been on earth. They said at botcon this toy drew heavily from animated, and that is far from a badd thing. I like how they retained the shoulder cannon and i've heard the chest flips down for a microscope stage, so maybe there is a microscope mode. we'll see. The head looks a bit small, but thats probably from how far out the shot was taken. I'm for sure intrigued to see more of this figure.

Scourge: Mis-transformed arms aside, i really like the look fo this guy. Seeing as i was never going to get Botcon 2009 Scourge or his sweeps (made from the cybertron Sideways mold), this guy is pretty much bought. again i would like a better shot of the head mold, but i'm taking what i can from these far away shots from this convention. I'm iffy on the feet and it looks like thre's no waist posabilty, which is fine. I like the alt mode a lot too, seems it homages the botcon figure and still refernces g1. just hope he's not a full on shellformer like the g1 figure is. WHo am i kidding, probably getting this figure.

Thuderwing: Looks awesome. Dont see the drone thing though. but yea. brilliant character from the comics from what i've heard, like another purely evil guy, like Straxxus (Darkmount). This guy is bought.

Turbo Tracks: Whats with the name? loss of copyright methinks. I've been wanting a new tracks toy since i saw reviews of the alternators version, which is on my wishlist even wiht this figure coming out. Both modes look spot on, and nice updates. Though the original came wiht a dual rocket launcher that clipped on to the back of the car, is that just the two separte launchers on either arm now? Wheres a photo of his flight mode? do like this alot though.

Legends Gold Bumblebee and g1-ish Megs: Gold Bumblebee or Goldbug is bought if i see him. the g1-ish Megs legend may be mistransformed, at leasti hope it is, the cannon side arm look wayy too low. still though, i might pass on him, unless i'm blown away.

Legends g1-ish Prime and Starscream: Dont look bad, need to see more to have full thoughts.

Power core Combiners Spring releases:

SteamHammer with Constructicons: will wait for a full on HQ photo, but first immpression is a good one. the drone limbs look more balanced than on the figures currently out. The legs look to be uniform length and i like the combined mode head.

Grimstone wiht Dinobots: I'm intrigued by a dinobot combiner, and this distant shot makes the figure look not half bad. though the head sculpt for combined mode looks a smidge phallic. I'm liking this idea so far and the drone Dinos seem like they hold the PowerCore ports well. But i want more photos.

Scout class Windcharger: if i seem him in the spring, he's as good as bought. like the look fo this guy a lot, even if i know nothing of the character.

Voyager Grapple: The inevitable universe 2.0 inferno repaint/retool. NEed a shot of the new head, but i like the look of this guy so far. As soon as his pre-order goes up, i'm gonna place one as this guy is based from one of the best molds in recent memory. very much looking forward to this figure.

HFTD Lugnut (movieverse lugnut): another TFA figure moves to the movieverse. This phot is a bit hard to see the details in. But that and the mistransformed/awkward arms aside this guy seems a bit lanky and has no mono-eye. Still though, there's something about the mold that grabs me and i dont know what. As of now, this is not an instant buy, btu that might change.

update on yesterdyas post

Hey guys, or any readers. Just an update to yesterdya's post. there's some full on photo of MP Rodimus' robot mode at the link below. I'm loving this figure so much i might take the fansproject protector armor off my holiday lsit and have this guy on there.

Prototype shots of MP Rodimus and update on a new 3-pack--my thoughts

Links: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/first-prototype-pictures-of-masterpiece-rodimus-170298/

http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/conventions-15/auto-assembly-announces-giveaway-of-challenge-at-cybertron-possible-target-exclusive-in-us-170303/ (takes you to an article about what the UL Transformers convention is doing wiht this 3-pack, i'll be commenting on the pack itself and the US release info).

First up, the prototype photos of Masterpiece rodimus. this figure is currently slated to come out sometime in 4th quarter this year and i'm really liking the resin prototype shots. I'm really diggins how the trialers looks seemless over the car. If theyre going wiht the Rodimus persona, i hope they do a face changing thing so we can do the Hot Rod to Rodimus growth thing. Although, its debated how much he grew. I'm intrigued to see if they do put this gimmick in. If they dont, i wont mind. it looks like the trailer will be a missile base thing, which i'm fine with. We only see a photo of a photo of the Robot Mode, and it looks sweet and sleek and i like it. I cant wait for the colorization and such. I'm just hoping he's not too expensive. Though he is due out sometime in the fourth quarter from Japan, so we'll see once we get more photos and such.

Secondly, the second link has aphot attached to it. Supposedly the schemes on the toys in this three pack (rodimus/hot rod, Galvatron and Cyclonus) are more accurate to the original cartoon. That being said, if this pack ends up being a target exclusive, i'm not gonna rush out and get it. Dont worry, i love the Hot Rod/Rodimus and Cyclonus molds, but no color scheme will save that deluxe Galvatron from being the king of crap it is. It shoulda been a voyager, i dont care how they make it, it should've been a voyager, regardless of Hasbro's scale issues.

TF3 new character reveal

link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/transformers-3-autobot-rollbar-revealed-170296/

Ok so apparently a red jeep has shown up on the Chicago set of TF3. The scenes theyre shooting there are supposed to be towards the end of the movie. Anyway, we see a red jeep in the photos at the above link and the car is apparently named Rollbar. Now, i'm a bit miffed its not a Green Jeep named Hound, but knowing hasbro, we'll get that repaint in the toyline for TF3.

Aside of that, i like the look fo the jeep mode alot seems he harks back to his g1 throttlebot namesake. Now i dont know much about the throttlebots, btu the above link gives a link with a brief bio, which makes me really like the character. I'm mildly excited for this new character overall. Lets wait and see what the robot mode and ssubsequent toy looks like.

a quickie

Hey guys, or any readers of this. Just wanted to sya that this is anohter slow point right now, not much in terms of commentary on news. and i would do another "extended Impressions" thing on ROTF Lockdown, but i dont feel compelled to do so. I like the figure alot, he's got some brilliant engineering, but i dont feel compelled to write a narrative on him.

ROTF Skystalker is due in next week probably so expect an "exteneded impressions" thing around August 6th

a look ahead to August on my youtube Channel

For anyone who follows this and my youtube channel (zizzlerizzle8707), this is pretty much a list of the reviews that are going to go up on my channel in the month of august, all 31 days of it. 5 reviews and at least 1 vlog in 31 days. talk about a marathon month, hmm thats a catchy subtitle. i may use that. Anyway, here's the itinerary.

ROTF Skystalker is due to me at some point in the first week of august (my last week of work). TFA Rodimus and generations red alert have been pre-ordered and will be at college waiting for me when i get back, around August 15th. Rodimus will be my 100th figure, and his review and that of Red alert will be up between the 19th and 24th. There's only a big gap there cause of traveling back out to school and doing stuff for that the week after work ends. ROTF Brawn is coming to me from a guy on the Moonbase 2 forums, so that should be in the week of the 23rd at the latest. Lastly, HFTD (hunt for the decepticons) sidearm sidewipe, who i pre-ordered from Kapow Toys in the UK should be to me that week as well. between him and BRawn, there is a chance that Marathon Month will bleed into september a bit, btu thats fine.

so yea. keep your eyes peeled to my channel.

First concrete glimpse of the heads for TF3 Soundwave and Shockwave

Ok so courtesy of tfw2005, we have full on close-up shots of the heads of TF3 Shockwave and Soundwave.

Link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/first-clear-look-at-transformers-3-shockwave-and-soundwave-170281/

Direct link to photo:http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/Soundwave-Shockwave-Heads_1280089839.jpg

Ok, so first Soundwave. He very much resembles his ROTF counterpart, yet the head is slightly different in that he has a mouth. This to mea shows he man have a sepearte robot mode head, instead of the head we saw him use in his satellite mode in ROTF. So it seems he has an Earth mode with an actual mouth whcih seems nice and evil. So maybe we'll get this change noticed in toy form. I hope we do, and think we will. Maybe just an earth robot mode to satellite/Jet. i mean how hard would it be to rework the head and some other molding from the ROTF figure?

Now for Shockwave, I'll be brief, I love this head sculpt. The one- eye is spot on and g 1 and has a great evil glow to it. The head has a nice swept forward yet somehow the eye is set back just the right amount. i really dig it.

SDCC 2010 Transformers update thoughts #3: More news on TF:Prime

Link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/san-diego-comic-con-33/round-up-of-info-and-images-from-sdcc-transformers-prime-panel-170265/

So we've got some absurdly awesome photos and a teaser trailer up of TF:Prime. I cannot wait for the premier. A nto though, if the photos dont load all the way, just click one by one and theyll come up in a new window/tab. but before the photos, the teasrer trailer.

Teaser Trailer: supposedly a wokrs in progress scene we see incredibly lush CGI and a highway bridge and two Decepticon Trooper drones walking under the bridge. Bumblebee, who's character model has really grown on me, leaps off, transformers and roundhouses one of the drones. I want figures from this show now. even if its just the main characters, I will by all the characters we've seen. The animation style for the CGI is amazing. I honestly have not been this blown away by TV CGI since Reboot and Beast wars in the 1990s. This neardly cause a fangasm, and its only a taser trailer.

one more thing before the photos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAi_MJay5Xw&feature=player_embedded That link right there takes you to a behind the scenes video of Frank Welker (finally reprisign Megatron) and Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) giving behind the scenes interviews about workign wiht each other again, and then we get a clip of script reading. ZOMG! Welker's new megatron class is toned down and is more calculating but is soo awesome. It the best since David Kaye's Megatron from the BEast Era for sure. and if that script reading is any indication, holy crap is this show gonna be well-written. When Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman dont have to deal with BAy, they can write a mean show.

Ok, now the photos from the top link. Of course, first up is Optimus Prime himself. As i said in an earlier post, i love the look of this model its a perfect synch between TFA and the movie wihtout being too movieish, the truck mode is beautiful and i love the head mold, though you cannot butcher a prime head.

Next is Megatron. Not sure about the jet mode, but the robto mode looks chunky, menacing and i love the "buckethead". The fusion cannon has pure ownage on it and dthe whol look is just really nice, even is the predominant color is grey.

Decepticon troopers: Based Megatron's Lackeys which means he has an established power base and alot of grunts/ cannon fodder. I like this and especially how it contrasts from how hw was in Animated. That being said though, i'm mildly excited about the design of these grunts. the alt mode really reminds me of lockdown. and i can totally see these guys been great for troop building.

The Humans: Raf Esquivel, Miko Tezuka and Jack Darby. Raf and Miko look very cool, very well drawn. i just hope theyre not annoying. photos at above link at the top.

Autobot time!

Ratchet: No alt mode surprisingly, but the robot mode looks amazing. Looks like a seasoned war veteran medic yet in a new body and looks like he could become and awesomt SUV type vehicle. I'm just really liking this and its hard to say exactly why.

Cliffjumper: to be a 60's or 70s red muscle car wiht bull horns on both modes. I love the look so much and i'm so happy CJ is getting Prime characterization (pun intended). Probably my favorite design in the bunch.

Arcee: she looks really nice and sleek. very ninja like, and the head sculpt reminds one of those creepy mahcines that simply turns is head wiht a blank look and smile crepily slowly. I really like it though. SHe's blue cause they didnt wanna go pink and too girly. whatever. 2 favorite overall wiht Optimus and Bumblebee.

Bumblebee: The robot mode has really grown on me. something about the car mode just gras me. maybe its just the sticking out engine and the non straight across the car mold black stripes. He just looks nice. Though, i wonder if he speaks or is mroe a quiet assassin.

Good news. cant wait for the show premiere.

SDCC transformers update #2: TF:Prime (TFP) Optimus revealed

Hey all so earlier today we got our first look at what Optimus from Transformers Prime (TFP from here on out) looks like. He looks exactly like what everyone was saying, like a smoothed out more TFA style of the movie-verse Prime. I'm really diggnign the big head crsst and the heald mold as well as the overall look.

link: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/san-diego-comic-con-33/one-shall-stand-with-tfw2005-at-san-diego-comic-con-2010-transformers-prime-optimus-prime-170254/

But then again, it is hard to butcher Optimus prime, Even transformers Energon Prime isnt bad. With TFP prime, i'm intrigued to see if there any more to come on his design and if this is just a base model.

SDCC transformers update #1a

TFW2005 has added a few mor photos from the hasbro display case. link from update #1 hold true, juts refresh.

two things i want to touch on. Hunt for the Decepticons Hailstorm is allegedly out or will be out this month. Interesting. Same with Sidearm Sideswipe who i have pre-ordered through kapow toys, who told me to expect a late august release. interesting....

In addition, HFTD Voyager Highbrow, who i'm really looking forward to is due out in september, which is a few months earlier than i expected. totally getting him in November or early december though.

I'm intirgued to see reviews of the latter as hasbro seems to be getting super interesting wiht their engineering, case in point Hailstorm (accordign to Peaugh's review).

see you next post.

SDCC transformers update #1

Ok so i'm gonna do as many SDCC Trasnforemrs updates as i can. Work may hamper the frequency of the posts until fruday afternoon. anyway, here goes the commentary.

Linkage: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/san-diego-comic-con-33/sdcc-2010-transformers-hasbro-booth-images-170250/

Oh look a bunch of images we;ve already seen! I think SDCC gpt jipped this year by being so close to botcon. Seriously, if this is all theyre revealing in the display case, i'm kinda let down by the product unveileing for the aforementioned reason. Maybe HAsbro's putting all their eggs in the TF:PRime reveal. We'll see.

So in the first row, we have yet another bumblebee figrue ina two pack with a legends class Grindor. I dont know what the point of this pack is, but i am passing hardcore on it. Next we see another 2007 LAM Brawl repaint under the "desert ruins" moniker. The mold isnt bad, its actually one i kind of want, its just the yellow-green that seems almost fluorescent thats turning me off here. The other legedns we see are craptastic.

Of course we see the shot fo the SDCC exclusive mighty muggs prowl and commemorative blaster figures, both of which i want and am sooooo jealous of people who are getting them now. Then we get a shot of the aniated Ironhide and Rodimus. Rodimus is sheer win and i already have him pre-ordered. Ironhide will be ordered in September or thereabouts. We then see another glimpse of the commemorative Seacons reissue which is on my xmas list. Past another shot of the bumblebee figure no one will get, we have an awesome panarama shot of Generations thrust, dirge, red alert, blurr, Drakmount and Drift. Drift i alreayd have and i love bothe modes and the mold. Blurr and Dirge have been pre-ordered, as has red alert. I really like Thrust and need to get him.

next, we get a crap ton of PCC figure photos and i'll be honest the only ones that remotely grab me are the Destrons 5 pack wiht the black huffer, leadfoot wiht pinpointer and Icepick with Chainclaw. Even with that said though, nothign is reaching out and refusing to let go of me with regard to these guys or this line. Guess thats one way i can save the $ i need to. Nothigns grabbing about the wave 3 2 packs for the PCC line either.

I'm done wiht this post.

Hong Kong convention exclusive 3pack from univers/classics 2010 and preliminary TF3 toyline thoughts

Linkage: http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/new-images-of-classicsuniverse-2010-3-pack--rodimus-cyclonus-and-galvatron-170239/

Commentary:

I'm kinda bummed this 3pack is a hong kong market exclusive. I'd buy it in a hearbeat, which would hurt my finances massively. While universe 2,0 galvatron is known to be a craptastic toy, the g1-ish look to him, plus the g1'd cyclonus and new version of Classics hot rod, negates Galvatron's inclusion and crap level for me. I really am in love with the Cyclonus redeco, its a shame the 3 pack may nto make it over here w/o absurd pricing and shipping

Secondly, we have:
Up to date price-points for TFs with charcaters we know as of 7/20/10 for tf3 placed in (courtesy of the TFW2005 boards).

Decepticons in TF3:

Shockwave: at least a voyager if not leader class

Megatron: knowing hasbro, will be both leader and voyager

Starscream: will pass until i see how it compares to the ROTF/HFTD leader class, which i kind of like.

Soundwave: will probably pass unless im blown away by a revamp. cant see a voyager version

"Robot assasin 1": intrigued. i'll wait for the name and such

"Robot assasin 2": see above

"Black Dodge Charger SRT-8": see above

Autobots:

Optimus Prime (L,V) will probably pass unless im blown away and the leader class comes wiht the trailer we've seen.

Silverbolt: Intirgued. but need photos and such

Ratchet: hardcore pass

Ironhide: potential pass, we'll see

Sideswipe: Sidearm sideswipe does it for me for movieverse sideswipe. so we'll see what they do wiht tf3 sideswipe, but dont count on my buying this.

Bumblebee: pass. I have not been tempted by any movieverse BB, especially casue they have milked the charcater to death.

"Chevrolet Spark 1" Mudflap?

"Chevrolet Spark 2" Skids?: For both this one and the one above, i'm intirgued but need confirmed characters and such.

Nascar 1

Nascar 2

Nascar 3 : again i need names and such. is this Smokescreen and some buddies or what?

"Ferrari 458 Italia": is this hot rod? i'd lov
e a movieverse hot rod/ rodimus, but i need a confirmed name and robot mode pictures.
"Old robot" (D)

"Purple Mercedes E550": again. need names and such.

So we'll se how many figures from this line i get

"Extended impressions" text revie #02: Generations Drift and Hunt for Decepticons Seaspray

So changed the name of this series cause its not really a first impression if i;ve had the figure(s) for a few days at least.

the figures: Generatiosn drift and Hunt for the Decepticons Seaspray.

To the uninitiated, Hunt for the decepticons (HFTD from now on) is essentially a extension of the movie-line aesthetic but wiht more a more classics feel, if that makes any sense. generations is then just the reprisal of the universe/classics lines which take classics characters and update them, or such things.

So first up, we'll go with Drift.

Bio:

His bio essentially is that he used to be a decepticon warrior named Deadlock who was insanely ruthless and cold hearted, but then had his eyes opened to the horrors of the Decpeticons when orderede to wipe out a neutral transformer colony by MEgatron. With this change of heart, he changed his form, and was given a second chance by Kup. Deadlock traded in for swords and became Drift. Drift is an IDW comicverse only charcater finally getting his due, or so comic readers say. His bio makes him sound a lot like Cyrus (do i ahve that name right?) from FFIV. anyway, Drift's packagign is stnadar, with only 1 cardboard twist tie around the main body of the car.

Alt Mode:

Drift comes packaged in alt mode, and it is a very sleep one at that. While there is nto muhc sculpted detail in this car mode outside of the rear lights, spoiler, twin rear exhausts, front headlughts and grill, this alt mode, a japanese drift car (get it?), isa thing of sheer beauty. His color scheme is pretty simple and pleasing with blue plastic windows and windeshield and painted blue rear windows. He has red patterning down the front leading to the headlights and both doors feature elegant and flowy red wavy patterning. on top of this door patterning on either door is a type of japanese writing known as Kanji. the writing on either door translates approximately to "samurai". This reference is made clear when you see the longsword that clips under the car. Made of soft, rubbery,, dark grey plastic, this sword has Kanji down the blade that Transltates roughly to " Peerless under heaven" whichc essentially means, he is unmatched. His skills as a decepticon transferred right into his sword mastery as an autobot The sword is marked with a slightly elongated handle and gold detailing at the hilt, with a circle in the middle.

Robot Mode:

The transformation to Robot mode is involved and fun. Drift is adeqautely propportioned for a deluxe in this mode. His sword clips into the same clips on his back, and the top one can even extend out. His headsculpt features some wicked blueish-white light piping and scream Tigatron. The balck made prevalent from his chest and shoulder joints as well as his feet, nicely offsets the white and read. The arm transformation is fluid and genius and because of the poability in his arms, Drift can be posed reaching up for his long swrod, or reachign to pull out his short swords a.k.a buthcer knives from the insides of his door. the handles on these swords flip otu and these feel soft, but also a bti more sturdy that the longsword. The blades are straight silver. As for detailign in robot mofe, the arms have nice slupted detial, btu the bulk resides in the legs, which are former by the back half of the car. Some of the detial in the legs is missed but the predominatn white color on the legs, but it can be piked up with a gundam marker, or paint. The elgs are intriguingly engineered, and the feet actially rotate up to the thighs to form Gundam esque Legs, or so i've heard.

Overall:

This well propoertioned deluxe shines in btoh modes and in play value wiht his 3 swords. His mian downfal, albeit minor is the last of waist movement and the leg transformation from back of the car. the toy was designed wihtout ankle posability, which you can give, but it breakes up the sculpt. This is the premiere mold of the Generations line for me so far.

Very reccomended

Toy: HFTD Seaspray

Alt mode: A massively upgraded hovercraft from his g1 self, Seaspray sport two harpoon mssile launchers, two rotating hovercraft fans (they rotate 36o degrees) and some phenomenal detialing on the lower half of the alt mode, where the inner-ubing would be on the real world counter part. He features a loading bay for most scot class figures. The mian dectrator from this mode is the "SEa S.P.Ray" detialing painted on the top and on either side in sliver. The amount fo detailing on the figure itslef is very nice.

Robot Mode: The transformation is intuitve and fun, once thigns get untabbed initally. The Legs have the typical "Chicken walker" aesthetic, but somehow that works for this figure. the white and blue color scheme prevails througbout and the hands are a bit plain. The head resembels a scuba maks, and could've benefitted from a ball jointa and more clearance behind it. He can undersling ithe guns or tab them into his heands. The only gripe i have eith the robto mode is that the way the arms were designed, the arms have to either be straight up or out at an unnatural straight-from-the-chest angle. This s=figure would be much better with better designs on the elbow engineering.

OVerall: However, eve with the flaws, i still reccommend this guy.

Have a good one guys!
